  1. Ledecky did what was needed. Gemmell needs to pick it up.
  2. Carson Foster has a shot for sure.
  3. Seto is giving him everything he had. Wow. What a good race.
  4. I expect Marchand to take this heat and qualify first. Marchand's underwater is amazing.
  5. Decent swim by Foster.
  6. Unfortunately, I think Australia will take the next gold medal (the women's 4x200 relay).
  7. The US and Australia, at this moment, have the same number of gold medals.
  8. That should do it. She is so good. I mean, anyone else would have fallen off the bars. By the way, the stories of the top 3 are amazing.
  9. Alas, no. He finished 4th I believe. On another note, I like Marchand a lot. He is a great swimmer, and he is still young. Perhaps USA Swimming not having as great of a meet here is what motivates them for the next 4 years. Personally, I'd love to see Ledecky, if she co tiniest to dominate, stay around in the 800 and 1t0p for LA in 2028.
  10. Not sorry if already posted. Stacey Abrams with the mic drop. 2a8e67ffc0394d3b2602dd0c2644e14f.mp4
  11. There was a Hungarian swimmer in the mens 100M free named Nandor Nemeth. Awesome.
  12. The 2024 US Women's gymnastics team name is Fuck Around and Find Out.
  13. Honestly, that was just domination start to end by the US Women (rewatching in primetime). On the Russia question, athletes from Russia and Belarus (both historically strong in gymnastics) could have competed, but they would have have to do so as AIN (inidividual neutral athlete). Not sure they could field a whole team, but some of them could have tried to qualify in events or the all around.
  14. So happy for this team! What an awesome final play! Also, the coach, the only female coach at the Olympics. Gotta pull for our neighbors to the North. Go Canada!
  15. Yep. You heard in the prelims that a lot of the swimmers attend college in the US. The college swimming and diving teams are like minor leagues for swimming. I will say this, swimming, as a competitive sport, is not cheap. And I wonder if there are things that can be done at the rec league/kids club level to allow more kids to participate. It would be a shame if the next Michael Phelps or Katie Ledecky never fulfill their potential due to lack of money. I thought USA Swimming used to do a lot to help with that, but I wonder if, like other administrative bodies, it has become bloated and self important. I would hope after this Olympics, they go back and take a hard look at what they need to do to prep for 2028.
  16. A lot of the European men train the United States with US coaches (a lot are at Texas now that Bob Bowman is there). Will be interesting to see what happens going forward.
  17. The pool in Paris is 2.15 meters. It’s definitely shallow. Also, it is 10 lanes across and in those outer lanes it slopes.
  18. The Flavor Flav sponsorship of US Women’s Water Polo is a fantastic story. v0f044gc0000cqjs1cfog65hs6fhg6bg.mp4 v15044gf0000cqhuf2nog65l184bq3kg.mp4
