  1. You kids have been a little quiet lately so it’s nice to get the hostility flowing. one thing that gets me fired up about this discussion is “he’s the best QB we’ve had in 15 years” point. But I’m a team first guy. So I did a little looking. OFEI. Overall rank first then opponent defensive strength second. 2017 - 95 against the 65th ranked defensive schedule. 2018 - 17th against the 46th. 2019 - 9th against the 18th. 2020 - 17th against the 11th. 2021 - 35th against the 45th. 2022 - 17th against the 29th. 2023 - 19th against the 36th. 2024 - 17th against the 28th. One thing that jumps at me is if Sark is such a mastermind, why haven’t his offenses done better relatively speaking? It is not a talent issue. I’d assume that damn near everyone likes this offensive staff better than Herman’s. I appreciate Sarks creativity. His overall program building is tremendous. I still say we’re the favorite to win it all. Keep that in mind when I give you part 2 of my Quinn Ewers is the greatest QB of the last decade discussion.
  2. This doesn’t even tell the full story. We’ve had the top back taken 2 years running. The fastest combo of WRs at the NFL combine ever. Is this the first ever we’ve had TEs taken in back to back years? And not to mention our defense relatively speaking has been better than the offense all 3 years. Is it the best 3 year run defensively in 40 years?
  3. That describes McElroys Alabama? Granted it’s not his fan base, but I don’t recall anything positive from our fan base about McElroys efforts.
  4. The first point is spot on. And it goes hand in hand with putting a player in the best position to succeed. As for Ewers, the public perception means little or should anyway.
  5. Perhaps. The most logical is a former QB is sticking with his veteran QB. The big goal is still ahead of him and the team. Back in the day, there was quite a bit of talk about Applewhite changing plays. Then I also heard there was “some check with me.” We used to run “check with me,” in high school and it really had nothing to do with me calling/changing the play. So I’m always a bit skeptical. In no way do I think this is the case here. I do think it’s an element of Sark saying “here, look what he can do.”
  6. We are as equipped as just about anyone from a depth perspective to run; however, that’s a risky proposition. It does make the QBs reads simpler. And 1 on 1 catches are fairly common. Our S played downhill pretty aggressively. With that comes some risk.
  7. Yes, seriously. As a fan who likes tidbits of information, I am curious how often this occurs. I am reasonably certain as to why this was brought up now. I do not believe it is an uncommon occurrence.
  8. I wanna see it. I was there but too short to see over the sideline.
  9. 71.8 for Wingo in the run game. I’ve never looked closely at that but believe that to be good for WR.
  10. You sure seem to be defending one player to the extreme when talking about a team goal. I do applaud some of the hostile words though since it’s the innernet.
  11. Right there with you. The older I get the more I believe in the theory that you win upfront. We harassed Cade a decent amount. They couldn’t run when needed. We mostly protected well and ran when it mattered. Mostly anyway. As for your QB hits, this is one reason I’m a big Sam fan. It absolutely impacts your passing game. And for years opposing defenses want to hit the QB. Run or pass the hits add up.
  12. I do find some humor in your exaggerations. And also some irony in that drag you other players down in your counters to anti-Quinn stuff.
  13. BO&W seemingly had some childhood drama. Colt was the best player on his offense and one of the few drafted on those last two offenses. In my opinion he’s underrated in college football lore.
  14. He’s trying to prove a point.
  15. In the past 3 games, 13 catches, 3 drops. Struggle with math or what? That is too many drops although I think it was a fair chance the sun played a part yesterday.
  16. This is correct. We’ve played few top flight WRs. And I’m not sure we’ve played many good #2s. Few good QBs. Not many great lines either.
  17. @Codaxx Couple things I thought you might find interesting. PFF grades look to have changed so maybe a work in process. We were 3-6 beyond 10 air yards. Clemson 9-16. The 16 is not a high percentage but the 6 is quite low. Juan Davis played his 2nd most snaps yesterday. It’s Arkansas then Clemson then A&M. As for blocking snaps it’s Arkansas then A&M then Clemson. There are likely clues in there why we do what we do. He’s only pass blocked 18 times all season.
  18. You are fighting two arguments with absolute legitimacy here. Our defense versus Clemsons defense is no comparison. Cade was trying to stave off a blowout so he likely got a little careless a few times then rebounded. His pass catchers made some great catches, but those throws were on the money too. And several have mentioned it, but every QB has some ill advised plays in every game. That was both guys. Then the 1st and 15 over an 2nd and 15. You’re correct. If that was truly how it played out, you risk the penalty. But it was only 1 play.
  19. What were you referencing? Or did you just go on “feel?” Yes, MSU is an awful defense. ULM actually had pressure so are you going to discount that? Those are simply the numbers.
  20. PFF has Arch with a turnover worthy rate at less than half of Ewers. Ewers rate last year was slightly less than Arch this year.
  21. And that shit is what we call “facts.”
  22. You said earlier something about our fans being smart or something. Threw out some facts and figures to counter a comment about the defense. Funny. Maybe not. So I’m guessing you’re saying that’s a No.
  23. The precursor to Malik Murphy?
