  1. Why not turn it down if it is such a difficult needle to thread? I don't like him, seen small bits and just didn't find him funny or even thought provoking, seemed like he focuses on low hanging fruit, but each to their own. I also can't recall the last time I watched the ESPY's and found the network has gone from what it was in its early days to the presumption they are a new organization taking themselves WAY TOO seriously. Based upon what you described and from what people describe his comedy it seems this was a situation he would relish because he would get to insult and offend as many people as possible which I never understood that style of comedy. Responding to a heckler is one thing, but insulting others?
  2. How the hell did Terrell Owens heal well enough in 7 weeks post surgery for a leg break and torn ligaments and Alvarez, Spencer, Pena, and Zach are healing at the rate of 90 year old men? Seriously, we were told Spencer broke his thumb over 3 months ago, DeZenzo first went on the 10-day IL for hand inflammation the first of June and got transferred to the 60-day about a week ago, Pena has a small, non-displace rib fracture that is going on 3-weeks, Alvarez over 2-months with hand inflammation, and Melton has been down for over 5-weeks with a sprained ankle from turning and chasing a fly ball. WTF? I have read and heard stories about athletes leaving colleges to go pro and commenting there were more resources available to them in things such as nutrition and recovery at their former school, but is the Astros training room an ultra sound machine, a whirlpool, a couple of ice buckets, and assorted Cramer products?
  3. Weren't we told Pena would be back after the All Star game? Hopefully he hasn't been claimed by the injury Bermuda Triangle that has claimed Spencer, Zach, and Alvarez this year.
  4. Simply retelling the story, unfortunately Joe isn't with us anymore to make the argument, at an hourly rate, and I am sure he would make a compelling argument either which way depending upon the client.
  5. You describe his time owning the Astros our being a trustee at Baylor?
  6. Careful now, one of Jamail's famous victories was suing the City of Houston while representing the widow of a drunk driver who hit a tree and was killed in the wreck. Joe argued the City created a public nuisance by planting the tree in the median.
  7. Wow, new meaning to the term "boy shorts". Gundy will most likely laugh, cash checks, and dare them to fire him.
  8. Wait, an ESPN creation to fill dead air time in one of the slowest sports news times in the year, filled with made up awards in made up categories, voted upon by the people who watch ESPN and care enough to vote isn't full of true content and is stretched to fit a time space? Huh....
  9. Who here knew there was a Czech league and I don't mean the softball league out of West. More importantly, has Dana checked there for left handed hitting outfielders or maybe that is where he found Hummell?

    Emmy 2025

I wanted to confirm that no nominations for any of the Chicago tribology or sixteen versions of Law and Order on NBC, no nominations for the FBI or NCIS variations on CBS, none of the Shondra Rhymes family of inbred shows on ABC, and basically every nomination is on a streaming service.
  11. I would say Clint is a fucking embarrassment, but the real embarrassment is a couple of TCU alums I went to school with who think Clint is incredibly funny and original to the point they believe they must share his videos to every Frog alum they know, even those of us who have told them multiple times to stop sending us the shit.
  12. Maybe so, and maybe we laugh at different things as I laugh to myself each time I see those idiots locked arm and am swaying to the memory of a guy who is immortalized for merely standing on the sideline. You believe there is a Darwin award in Johnny's future to book end the Heisman?
  13. You underestimate the desire of the Ags to keep a hero alive in their minds. Shit, Gil didn't play a down and his memory is immortalized for ever, just imagine if he won a game at Alabama in a season that resulted in not even a SEC West DIVISION championship.
  14. What would you expect from a guy who was never held accountable until his mid 20's after the dumbarses who are firing you have paid you millions, then you (or someone(s) who feed off you in a parasitic relationship) convince people to pay you to tell a story about how you were never held accountable which triggers the cult that worships at the alter of you, a dog, and a guy who stood on the sideline and never actually played in a game to rally around you..
  15. You kidding, Lytle will be playing center in no time and the three righthanders will be starting and winning in the second half of the season before going out with forearm strains.
  16. Should have kept the burning rose and called it the Urban Campers.
  17. Except that in Back to the Future, Marty's interaction with his parents sets off a change reaction of unintended consequences and Marty's "fixing" this issue changes the future versions of his parents. We see that played out for us through the progression of the movie. If things don't get fixed with the parents there is no Marty and with no Marty what becomes of Doc Brown. Since the couple separated and then reconciled they really haven't been much in the series other than props to advance stories and Space Beth has replaced Earth Beth as a worth companion to Rick. The Beth and Jerry episodes pretty much gave us episodes the focused upon them and in the case of Beth really didn't do anything other than reinforce what we already knew about her. With Jerry, I think they missed the opportunity to have Jerry truly address the one person who has continually gotten in Jerry's way, himself. Rick is no longer fighting the Galactic Empire, we haven't seen him searching anymore for the Rick that killed his wife, we haven't seen Evil Morty, and what might have been the best episode of the season touched on the aftermath of the destruction of the Citadel of Ricks. I am not sure where the writers are taking this show, but it really has fizzled out.
  18. The last time that happened SMU was investigated by the NCAA and things went back to the normal for the bigger schools. Oh wait, the NCAA doesn't scare anyone anymore and basically can be told to fuck off, sorry Brent.
  19. Definitely, carved out of volcanic rock.
  20. Based upon that thought, they missed the opportunity for an Emperor of the North Pole spin among all the Jerry's.
  21. Fixed it, he might be from one of the very few places in the continental US that is damper than Houston and someone will need to make sure he realizes that big bright ball in the sky is the sun. Wife has family up around Anacortes and they are damn near translucent.
  22. John Sharp is pissed that someone has followed his blueprint for growing Texas A&M into the biggest school in the country better than the Ags.
  23. Is Orlovsky stumping for CJ a good or a bad thing? Each time I see him I think that this is the guy who sacked himself for a safety by running out of the endzone in an NFL game. if you aren't aware of what is going on then, can we trust you elsewhere?
  24. The idea that any one conference or a pair of conferences should be in a position to dictate things to the rest of college football in large part is the reason why things have gotten as fucked as they are and why I really don't have much hope for the direction of college football. At the end of the day Sankey is more worried about doing what is best to keep him in that job than what is good for the direction of the sport and at some point there is going to have to be a single entity with some control.
  25. Too busy smoking dope in the locker room under Jimbo to get riled up enough to fight.
