  1. Not a fan of a place that considers Prego over noodles chili.
  2. From my perspective, the consensus is FUCK Joey Football, but I think your consensus is more accurate.
  3. Did anyone catch last night that the Astros head trainer was going to Atlanta as part of the AL medical staff. This is a brilliant trojan horse move by Dana.
  4. All ready for robot umpires after last night. I am also ready for all Fox play by play guys to die of dysentery. Now that I think of it let me change that to all Fox play by play guys and AJ.
  5. You mean their combined averages?
  6. Joey's real problem is Joey and that he doesn't understand the crap that worked at Cedar Hill isn't going to work in college. There are on Claude Mathis on the other side of the field.
  7. I guess if there is no limit on the time of a test drive you really aren't breaking the rules.
  8. Sorry, was looking for a book that I have that provided some of the details as I don't want to mis represent, but I think one of my kids has it. Younger posters on this board might be shocked to know that back in the day, all parts of Dallas weren't a welcoming place to the new Cowboys. The practice was that if you were a new player of color who came to the club, you would be directed to the Cedar Crest neighborhood in South Central Dallas. Don Perkins was interviewed by the Washington Post and he talked about the poor conditions of the homes available in this area at the time. Mel Renfro tried to move his family to an apartment complex in North Dallas, near the Cowboys' practice facility, but the deal got scrapped at the end and Renfro actually sued siting discrimination. There have been multiple explanations for what North Dallas 40 meant and one is that supposedly there was an unwritten acknowledgement that no sale or rental of a residential property would involved persons of color north of that point. Norman got involved with real estate development and was part of building at least one apartment complex in North Dallas that would provide quality living environment from persons of color. I am sure I botched that up and was hoping to get the details correct, but Norman is a forgotten person in the civil rights history of Dallas.
  9. Hmmm....I was always told Texas didn't cheat back in the day.
  10. Liquor stores yes, but the restaurant depends upon where you are in the Houston area. The one given is a donut shop run by a Vietnamese family and on the counter by the cash register(s) is a Fortune Cat figurine. Restaurants vary from Mexican to Indian to Pho and you might hit a strip without a restaurant pad, but 2-3 food trucks or a vendor selling produce and Mexican cokes.
  11. 5 miles you say? Do you realize how many strip malls with vape/ cbd store, cell phone store, tanning/massage salon, and a gas station with a wall of six liners that could fit into that amount of space?
  12. His entire look FITS his name.
  13. That obviously isn't the Herminator with the sledge hammer.
  14. On a good day, on a bad day, might reach North 610. I do agree that it is pretty funny listening to people react when they learn just how far people drive in Houston and the Metroplex and just the square miles covered by both.
  15. A very under appreciated athlete for the stands he took in Dallas and what it cost him. Curious how many here know the connection between Norman and "North Dallas 40".
  16. I have been to both and there isn't much at either besides the schools. Thought it was nicer to say that than the middle of fucking nowhere. Not Pullman bad, but not much around them.
  17. Curios if Jake was even seen by a doctor for the original calf injury. With Alvarez, he has supposedly been seen by multiple specialists.
  18. Agreed, he has a losing record in conference play, had one great year, and they are decent, but nothing special. Basically a bald version of Matt Campbell.
  19. Not as if they would net to get if first approved by the player's health insurance. How hard is it to ask the damn hospital system that is partnered with you to open up a time slot for a player to get imagining done?
  20. Did he end the interview with "rack'em"?
  21. Very true, though rumor has it that Johnny's family were THE people to see if you wanted to buy a caravan in East Texas.
  22. Yes, let's move more shit to Kansas City. While we are at it we should move the baseball tournament back to OKC.
  23. Actually was going to call him a gypsy, but didn't want to besmirch gypsies.
  24. Not a problem and only asked because I know somewhere buried in this thread is the debate about Cruise playing Reacher. I agree Cruise is versatile, but I do think that while Cruise did portray some of the traits that make Reacher such an enduring character the one thing he can do is be the hulking presence that is Reacher and what seems to put him in some of the situations he finds himself, even when he tries to avoid confrontations. Take for example the fight in the first Cruise movie where Reacher beats up the 4-5 guys in the street. In that movie the result is unexpected from them because he is an "averaged" sized guy on film and why should they expect to get their arses beaten by one guy. Not a bad season, but not really the Reacher from the books.
