  1. This is what people miss, at one time SMU, TCU, and RIce drew very large crowds, even when they weren't great and then pro football came to town. Granted, we and Rice fucked ourselves for several years with our attitude towards football while SMU was willing to try to win. The thing is the crowds went away and just for the record, all 8M in the metroplex aren't tied to SMU.
  2. Remind me which network broadcast most if not all of the college baseball postseason because if it is the ESPN that I know, the only question is who is going to get fucked by the mouse this year.
  3. Agree it isn't realignment related, but think it is more an indication of the clusterfuck that college sports has become with the influence of THE network, conference realignments that range from strategic alliances to outright greed and panic movers, resistance to change and ineffectual leadership from the NCAA, college presidents, college AD, and conference leaders, and the involvement of the courts and politicians. The one thing I do think that will have to happen in the future will be at some point the schools and whatever conference(s) survive there is going to happen to be some agreement to work together.
  4. Close, the Mayflower van leads the procession in place of the hearse, a Mayflower wardrobe box is the casket, pall bearers are wearing Mayflower movers uniforms, the funeral procession will start just after midnight, and at the grave site the members of the last Baltimore Colts bands will piss on his grave.
  5. He might need it, but he is over 700 away and does anyone think he can reproduce the numbers for 2024 4 more times with the way he is currently approach at the plate.
  6. Anyone else see the story coming out of Tennessee about the supposed conference NIL "loyalty" pledge? https://sports.yahoo.com/article/tennessee-chooses-state-law-over-185613660.html I have no idea if there is anything to the story, but this sure seems like yet another example why the fuck the powers to be so to speak in college sports needed to act sooner and not wait for the courts and the politicians to get involved in this entire clusterfuck.
  7. You ever see Tiger's side piece that was the waitress at Perkins?
  8. Most likely going on the injured list for the whiplash he suffered trying to follow that ball on its way over the fence.
  9. I am sure Citron and Snitiker can get him straightened out.
  10. Never understood why people keep believing that Venables knows what he is doing as a head coach. His 2022 team was poorly coached, the 2023 had some better talent in some key positions, but they could have just as easily lost 2-3 more games that season than say gone undefeated, and last year was a fucking train wreck on offense. The only bigger question as to why anyone in Norman might think these latest changes will work is why in the hell did they sign him to a 6-year extension after the 2024 season. Only one other Sooner head coach has a losing record in conference play after 3 seasons and that as the incomparable John Blake who was a Switzer crony and should have been a cautionary tale to the Sooners when they hired Stoopes crony Venables.
  11. Part of me wants Tampa to make the play offs simply for MLB to have to deal with the issue of playing games in this joke of a park.

    2025 NCAA Baseball

This is such a classic baseball result, ASU scores 36 runs in their series with BYU just a few weeks ago and now goes full whiskey dick against the same staff.
  13. Driving around the other day and Paul Gallant had Jeremey Booth on talking about the Astros. I guess they knew each other from the Seattle days and maybe Booth knows what he is talking about, but the guy is not a fan of Jake playing every day which I understand somewhat. Thing is how do you take a guy who is hitting over .300 out of this line-up? Booth was adamant that Dubon should be starting for the Astros because he is gold glove winner, but if he really a starter or is he better in small doses so to speak?
  14. Very true, but if the elimination round goes longer than 1 game, Tony's track record isn't too good in that second game.
  15. I have been told more than once by my brother in law who lives in Seattle and is a dawg alum that Stanford loved to tell the other schools in the Pac that every sport was as important as every other sport, but the athletic department should never be a prominent part of the schools identity or mission.
  16. The milk is never free, even when you think you can completely walk away from it with no strings there is always that fear in the back of your mind that at some point in the future when you piss it might burn or blisters might appear somewhere.
  17. Did anyone who was part of the hiring decision in Austin ever see that picture prior to make the job offer?
  18. looks a bit like fred dukes
  19. Using sound internet conjecture? Yes. Based upon any actual second hand knowledge, no idea, but this is the internet so yes.
  20. You expect Romo to win the gold? The obvious choices would be Brady and Antonio Brown.
  21. I actually found doing a search for Temple College 2021 baseball roster that the played 98 games for them in 2020-21 and 2021-22: https://tcleopards.com/sports/bsb/2021-22/bios/chestnut_travis_754t?view=career&pos=h I don't know when he graduated from Pflugerville and the best I can tell is he isn't very big, but can run. As you pointed out he didn't hit much for the Ags and reading his bio there he was a utility player whose biggest contribution was as a pinch runner. He goes to St. Ed's where he hits well and racks up stolen bases, but he is 23 turning 24 next fall and I doubt he gets much attention from any MLB team aside from an offer to sign. So I am confused where according to Mom he got "pushed out" by the NCAA. Having heard some stories about Ray, this might explain his playing for the Banditos.
  22. Baby steps, we are working to get off the nitrous when Lance pitches to just a small local.
  23. Go ask the folks on a UW, Oregon, and USC board about their thoughts on Stanford and the willingness of the Cardinal to make their feeling felt when they thought a Pac rival crossed in line. Wasn't also just conference expansion. Stanford was very vocal that athletics should not only over shadow academics, but even be a feature part of a universities identity and made sure they could exert whatever influence they had to check other schools who felt differently.
  24. To be fair, Lance did much better this start than his prior start.
