  1. No, Crane considering if he should sell the franchise period.
  2. The issue isn't the dollar amount, If they were trading Matthews and bag of ball to take Carlos for a couple of years period so be it. Taking Carlos on your roster for AT LEAST 3 years and possibly 6-7 is nothing short of fucking stupid because of how much it ties your hands with the roster.
  3. Already lost it when I read Pena was playing in Sugarland and the Astros were rolling out a guy hitting .200 at short. What it will do is make me not care and just turn my attention to football and the F1 drivers' championship. I can support a team with injuries because I am, I have and will a support a team that is bad, but someone who makes fucking panic dumbarses decisions that contradict what is supposedly your cardinal rule of operation just so you don't give up the spotlight to the Texans? Pull this trade off and I hope the rumors I have been told about Crane wanting to sell are true.
  4. You don't remarry the gold digger whore who left you just because she was a really good fuck and you are currently alone because things change over time and if she does stay around this time you are going to have to pay her to go away which is worse than her simply leaving you the first time.
  5. Bingo, plus the one small issue that he is on the fucking roster/payroll for at least 3 more years which already has Altuve who basically is a DH until he retires and Alvarez who may never play the piano or hit for power ever again. I don't want to here about how the Astros can move Carlos in the off-season, BULLSHIT!!! Who in the league doesn't know about his injury history as he failed 1 or was it 2 physicals, they can see the declining skills, and the length of his time on the il each year. If these particulars were for any other player than Carlos most of the board would be up in arms. You don't make these type of decisions based upon sentiment.
  6. Fuck this, his contract runs at least until 2028 and possibly as long as 2032. If Crane greenlights this he better start signing every fucking Astros to long term deals beyond the age of 30 because not only are you doing what you say you won't do, but throwing money at older versions of the players you could have had when they were healthier and better players.
  7. First, Pena would have to be in the clubhouse and not fucking Sugarland. Second, Carlos isn't adding defense. Third, this team needs pitching and not a bad case of deja vu' and this smells like a Crane move similar to getting Verlander a second time when he really didn't do shit, took up pay roll, and when it mattered didn't win games. This team with or without Carlos isn't winning games 8-6 in the play offs. They aren't getting past Detroit with their pitching or outscoring Toronto. I was good with a number of the late trades in the past because the team was put in a position to compete in the play offs, but this is a desperation move and that is when you make big mistakes. Dana needs to take the phone away from Crane, tell Jim to fire him if he wants, and protect the club from another sentimental mistake because they don't need to tie up money when they already have too much tied up in Montero and Abreu, have a player in Altuve who really needs to be a full time DH, and if they want to make a bold move, move Alvarez. Yes, that might sound stupid, but something doesn't feel right about the hand, this is his third extended period on the injured list, second with the hand, and if this thing is chronic and he won't do surgery if isn't going to magically go away.
  8. Oh good, trade for an overpriced, broken down infielder AND a career sub .250 hitting outfielder with little power and a career OPS just over .700. Especially considering all the depth the Astros have right now, though I am sure the Twins would make that trade for Trammell and Hummel. Tell your friend to stop texting you the hypotheticals he created with the trade calculator on some website.
  9. While we are at it the Rockets need to bring back Harden and Chris Paul and the Texans need to get Hopkins and lure JJ out of retirement.
  10. No, the easiest way would have been for Paredes to not get hurt because when he was well the Astros were fine at third and not tied to Bregman for a long term deal with a player in his 30's who has a habit of getting hurt and the Astros don't need to burn draft picks on going over the luxury tax for guys past their prime and falling apart.
  11. Paredes can't play anywhere right now which actually IS THE ISSUE. Adding an overpriced player with a broken down body does little for this year to address pitching problems and more importantly goes against the strategy Crane has used in negotiating contracts.
  12. Why the hell would the Astros trade for Carlos, a guy that it has been proven can't pass a pre-trade physical due to his body falling apart, when they can't keep the players they already have healthy.
  13. Wasn't Haslam the guy who pushed through the Watson trade?
  14. Remember watching the game referenced with my Dad who was a lifetime Cub fan and my Uncle who was a lifetime Cardinal fan at my Uncle's home in central Ilinois where the radio broadcast for WGN and the station out of St. Louis overlapped. You were either a Cubs fan or a Cardinal fan in that small farming community. I also remember that Sandberg had a very rough start his rookie season, can't remember the exact numbers, but something like 1 for 30 or 40. Cubs' manager Lee Elia kept him in the lineup and things seemed to work out from there for Ryne and the club.
  15. I am still trying to understand all the outfield moves made tonight. Obviously someone has cast a confusion spell on the Espada, need someone to start muttering a counter curse.
  16. Fuck him, cut his ass out of the HEB commercials until he is back playing in the majors and fully realize that leaves Dubon as the only person speaking in any of those.
  17. Anyone who has ever read a Potter book knows Altuve should be wearing a pillow case because he and Dobby are roughly the same height and before anyone replies I am damn proud to admit I read all the books with our kids as they grew up.
  18. Why the fuck isn't Pena playing? Seriously, England has a woman who plays damn near 600 minutes in the Euro's with a broken leg and Pena is still rehabbing from a non-displaced rib fracture. Maybe he and Alvarez are hitting off tees someone as part of their recovery day. Fuck that, recovery days are for when you WORK, he and Alvarez took a SPA day. I blame Scott Boras for this just because....
  19. Hope that Deion doesn't use a podcast as a way to show everyone as he did with the toes. Simple words will suffice in this case.
  20. Might that because he was hurt? There could be this strange cause and effect thing going on with the elbow.
  21. Wait, that had a script? Granted, no one should have expected much of a coherent story line based upon most of his other work which is why it felt like the "script" was three plot lines written on a paper napkin from a wing restaurant and then just improv. No worse than Grownups 2 and I have to give Scottie credit for leaning into the jail bit.
  22. Fuck that, get your ass in the car, drive up 59 and get to the Dike? Deike? Dyke? Just get to the fucking MLB park and quit the European summer holiday bullshit.
  23. Who doesn't have teammates involved in gun fights over cassette tapes and your starting quarterback pictured on the cover of SI in shackles and an orange jump suit?
