We are going into the 4th Q and Georgia currently has 14 points. We aren’t losing because of the defense. In fact they are the only reason we are in this game.
All of three of those balls should have been caught. Sark needs to revisit how he handles the bye week. Team isn’t focused just like they weren’t against Florida.
I really hope it’s true and Akina is not back next year. The 3rd and 10 coverage was abysmal. And I thought Taafe was supposed to clean up the communication in the secondary.
1. We can go through the defensive game tape and see that this isn’t exclusive to Gilbeau. Manny got beat for a TD against MSU. He should have been beat for a TD against Vandy but Pavia didn’t make the throw. Littleton was getting beat on routes repeatedly against SJSU. We saw what Dallas Wilson did to Black. The Stowers TD wasn’t technically on him but my continued issue with Gilbeau is he is going to do his assignment and nothing else. He doesn’t have the football IQ to improvise on the fly.
2. Again part of playing DB is forcing a QB into tough throws they can’t make. Sayin threw a prayer and Tate made the play. But Gilbeau was also there to make a play on the ball. I don’t care about if Sayin makes a better throw because he didn’t.
I get that Gilbeau is probably the least liked starter on defense but sometimes the offense just wins. Gilbeau isn’t the only DB that has been beat on a route this year. The QB still has to make the throw and the WR has to catch it. Part of playing DB is being in a position to make those two things as difficult as possible. Gilbeau recovered and Tate made a hell of a catch. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap.
The only reason some of you think the freshman WRS should get more snaps is because they haven’t gotten any. That is literally the only reason. As mentioned above McCutcheon got snaps vs Ohio State and he is also a true freshman. I know a lot of people like to think there is a game day stud just sitting on the bench dwindling his thumbs because the coach doesn’t like the way they practice but that isn’t always the case. I’d also like to mention Butler was also ahead of those guys and he isn’t anyone’s favorite.
I think yall are setting yourselves up to be massively disappointed regarding OL and the portal. Unless there is a coaching change I don’t expect us to be very active when it comes to the OL.
I guess, but then that means I’m no longer considering coming to your school to play football. I’m sure most of these top kids could likely negotiate the new school paying them a “bonus” to possibly pay back whatever they may owe.
Not likely he is a QB at the next level.
