  1. The "only person" to blame... What an incredibly delusional take.
  2. I know nothing about evaluating OL, but Lengyel looks pretty athletic to me.
  3. Herman helped make the well-oiled machine in Columbus, FWIW.
  4. Riley is a great offensive mind, but he could just as easily be the next Mark Helfrich as the next Knute Rockne. OU should've been about 8-4 last year. You look at some of the games they've squeaked out in his tenure, combined with the ass-rapings they've taken in the playoffs, and suddenly he's not such a sure thing. This season (if/when it actually happens) will tell us a lot about both Riley and Herman. By year 4, it's all on the current head coach.
  5. I will say this with regard to Herman vs. Riley: I know who I'd rather have coaching a playoff game. The question is if he can actually get there.
  6. I'll wait until the end of the season to take a definitive stance. I don't know if Tom is "the guy" (unlikely, since there have only been 2 in the history of the program), but he's built a solid foundation. The roster is in the best shape it's been in a decade. Now you could say that any dumbass should be able to build a talented roster at Texas, and I won't argue with that... but at the very least, he's done a better job than late Mack/Charlie (not saying much, I know). This season (if it happens) will tell us everything we need to know. I wouldn't be shocked if we made a run to the playoff, in which case the "Fire Herman" crowd all look like idiots; I also wouldn't be surprised by another 8-5 showing. We shall (hopefully) see.
  7. Stupid sip, New England HSFB is where the real talent is.
  8. 2 pages in and no mention of this?
  9. Today's results couldn't have been much better. Now just need Clemson to beat LSU.
  10. Nothing you said has anything to do with the shit product Herman has put on the field throughout his tenure here.
  11. I know Campbell is a Midwest guy, but I have a hard time believing he would turn down FSU. They're down right now (mostly due to Jimbo's terrible roster management), but it's not a Tennessee situation. He could turn them around quick in that conference.
  12. I wouldn't pencil him in as the starting slot next season. I think there's a decent chance Whittington moves back to WR.
  13. 3rd and Orlando coming up
  14. Is FSU even a better job than Oregon at this point? Aren't they always broke? They obviously have more talent in FL, but Oregon has clearly stepped their game up in recent year$.
  15. The few times we used 4 down linemen we seemed to get some pressure... but of course we abandoned it down the stretch, and got torched.
  16. Get rid of Tim Beck while we're at it.
  17. Didn't learn from 3rd and 17 against LSU. He's done.
  18. Heh
  19. Doesn't Call have a designated tackling coach? Their defense has been solid under Wilcox. Replacing one of our two WR coaches and/or Warehime with someone who can teach propper tackling technique might be beneficial (in addition to firing Orlando, of course).
  20. Riley certainly looks the part, but he doesn't have the skins those other two have. Regardless, he ain't coming here either.
  21. Cal hasn't broken 30 pts all season. They do play good defense though. Maybe we should look at their DC.
  22. Peterson lost to Cal this season. Gundy had one great season and can't beat OU. Patterson peaked five years ago. Saban and Swinney are the only sure-thing, championship caliber coaches in the country, and they aren't coming here. Despite last night's (and last week's) shit show, the program is in the best shape it's been since 2009. Herman made some shitty hires when he got here, and they're holding the program back right now, but I'm willing to give him this offseason before jumping off the train.
  23. He's gotta fire Orlando. Absolutely has to.
  24. At the very least, he has to be gone at the end of the season. Right? Right?!?!?
