I watched a bunch of that game, and that was legitimately the least disciplined defense I have seen at the P4 level. Every long TD throw that Reed hit was a straight up coverage bust with no defender within 20 yards of the receiver. When they got stops, they would just commit some penalty to extend the drive. I am here for A&M over rotating based on this performance, because they are going to come crashing down to earth when they play a team with a pulse.
My favorite part about that stadium is the fact that they literally have to beg aggie fans to come via bus or train in from DFW and Houston on local radio stations. It is an easy place to fill for a big game, but non ranked games they are not even close to full. And of course there is UMass..
Their defense is still damn good, I don't think USC is capable of doing what we did on the scoring front against them. Who knows, Orji might pop a run or two and get them going. I have low hopes that they will win, but it should be closer than our game.
Honestly, if he got hurt on a QB sneak then this kid is made of glass. The physics of that play make it almost impossible for the defense to get a square shot on the QB. At worst, he just gets piled on by a few guys. If he got hurt on that play, then the first real hit he took he might just shatter on the field.
I remember looking at him coming out of high school thinking that this guy has no business being a five star. He was limited as a passer, seemed to throw into coverage, and had really terrible mechanics. If you want to hitch your wagon to that guy then best of luck. He is the Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy of 5 star QBs
I have a hard time believing Florida loses this game. Napier and his dumbassery aside, If they even get half of the production out of Lagway they got last week they would win. Weigman will not eclipse 200 yards again this week.
Gibson being the backup to Blue and Niblett being the backup to Wisner is the best case scenario and what I think they are going for, with Velton Gardner playing spot duty.
