  1. I’d like to see more film on him. So far I’m not too thrilled with him asa prospect but he may end up at LSU anyway. Boyce was undersized but his hips jumped out at you as you watched his film and he showed great physicality. You could easily see what he could develop into. So far, I’m not seeing that with Banks but haven’t been able to see a whole lot of him. On a side note, I know everyone’s excited about Cook this year, but I might be more excited about Boyce. I think he can be really special in a year or two. Reminds me of someone Patterson would take and then would blow up Year 3.
  2. Yeah, he does a great job of staggering his classes. Both Graham and Mason were right around the #100 prospect their year. Self easily could've got higher ranked guys, but getting 1 or 2 guys each year that will stick around combined with some one and does is how you stay winning every year. It's got to be hard to figure out who will stay but is also good enough to be developed into a great player. Shaka did a poor job of this his first year by failing to be able to keep Mack in the program and also having Barnett leave. Think about how much this team could've used either/both of those guys this year. It would've been a completely different team. He did a bad job in 2016 considering Young and Banks are transferring. So far, that's four guys who would be upperclassmen on next year's team that are now gone. When you combine that with grabbing one and dones your roster, will be looking pretty bare. Simms, Febres, and Coleman all look like good signings that will stay at least three years (who knows if Hamm will develop) and this class also looks to have good long-term guys. Problem is Shaka needs those long-term guys to be upperlcassmen this year but he couldnt keep any of them and now he's in trouble. All that to say, combining elite talents with program guys you can develop is a difficult line to walk. Self does it masterfully.
  3. Way to walk around the point. You insinuated it by saying he's coached more talent than anyone else, which is a complete lie. Kansas has been more talented than Texas every single year. And again, one and done big men, while extremely talented, don't affect a game as much as a guy like Jevon Carter or Evans. Plus the continuity, which I already pointed out. The way you're using the word "talent" is based on long-term potential, not current skill level.
  4. Nice to have you and it didn't even take us bashing your podcast skills to get you to reveal your identity. Since you're here, I've got a question for you. Why does Shaka suck at coaching offense? I'll hang up and listen.
  5. This is fairly disingenuous. Bamba and Allen may be extremely talented recruits, but they were one and done centers. Centers need time to develop on offense and a freshman, like Jarrett is not actually better during his freshman year than many upperclassmen who are less "talented." Plus, he only got any of those three guys for one year, and he only got Cam Ridley for half a year. He's undoubtedly had bad injury luck that has drastically changed his resume here. A healthy Cam Ridley his first year and a healthy Andrew Jones this year, and those two seasons outcome could have been drastically different. The amount of turnover on his roster due to guys leaving early, injuries and some transfers (that are his fault) negates the talent he has had. A less talented roster with more continuity and upperclassmen is generally the better team. Shaka has not done a good job maximizing his talent. He's underachieved but to act as if he should be finishing first or second in the league because of all his "talent" is fairly ridiculous. KU does always win the recruiting war, at least in the Big 12. They've signed 1-3 5 stars every year, since 2013. Most years they sign more than one 5 star. Their classes aren't ranked super high becuase tehy take small classes, since Self does a good job grabbing some guys every class who will stick around for 3-4 years, like Graham and Mason. This was probably Self's least talented roster in a long, long time and even still it was loaded with 4 and 5 stars, many of whom were upperclassmen. He's been there forever and he's created great depth, so 4 star guys who are top 100 players, get to learn year one, get their feet wet year two and then come on big in years 3 and 4.
  6. Hahahaha yes, let's listen to QB evals from the guy who wants Casey Thompson to be the starter by midseason.
  7. Only if worn with the proper attire.
  8. And for reference, I think I found a couple of the 9.95er reports Thiefery was referring to:
  9. You’re crazy if you don’t think we need more help on the OL. i know a lot of people want to chalk all our OL issues up to coaching and believe that Hand will fix all that. It’s just not true. We have some serious talent and depth deficiencies on the OL and will even when everyone is here and healthy. Hand won’t be able to fix all that in one offseason. If we can even get to a league average to slightly above average OL this year, we should all be very happy.
  10. Whoops. Well I like that even better now I know he’s got three years of eligibility left.
  11. Nope. He’s a junior. He came in to be a contributor right away. I’m pretty sure he’s still not practicing yet so we likely won’t onow how good he is until fall practice. Regardless, even if he’s not markedly better than the starters, we’ll likely need him to play for depth purposes anyways.
  12. The real question is what other sprorts does Card not excel in? Answer: none.
  13. Yeah, we need more WRs like this.
  14. I think you misunderstood. The Kleenex, lipstick, dog poop bags, and tampons are all for him.
  15. “A #5 class in the nation means you’re #4 in the SEC. “ /looks up 2018 rankings sees only 1 SEC team in the top 6.
  16. I would not recommend that course of action.
  17. DE. He’s going to outgrow LB pretty quickly.
  18. This has the potential to be a wonderful troll account.
  19. When I wrote my piece, I assumed that info was coming from Super K. Now that I know you wrote it, I'll just disregard. I kid. I kid. I appreciate the info. Crazy that he would even consider leaving. Does anyone know if Toneil Carter's camp has quieted down about the transfer nonsense, or if he's at least not listening to them anymore?
  20. Honestly, a very poor man's Larry Bird is a pretty good comp for what Doncic could be.
  21. Oh yeah, I see the one you're talking about. That looks like Cosmi to me, and he's #52, so that could be it instead of #58 but it's a little hard to tell.
  22. So Brick stole Jordan Elliott and now Charlie/BJM might steal Nelson. Awesome. Thanks for the memories, Chuck.
  23. "if Chris Nelson decides to follow some truly awful advice and transfer," This is the first non-IT source I've seen mention Nelson potentially transferring. TFB seems to be the most reliable 9.95er so this isn't great news. I truly don't get it. The guy will get to play NT and be a focal point of hte defense. I don't see anyway him transferring gives him a better chance to be drafted. he's not a pass rusher; it's not like Orlando is misusing him. Hopefully he will see the light. I like our DL a lot with him here, without him, we start to look a little thin.
