  1. I believe you can watch that exact thing in the Colt McCoy interview after the loss to 'bama. Easily the best interview of a losing player I have ever seen.
  2. Wrt the refs. I feel like it is such a rarity to get neutral refs, but I have looked and can't find a true box score. Felt like there were so many uncalled penalties against them, almost like a Rig 12 job again, but that won't show up in a box score. Does holding ever get called against our opponents? I mean ever? And pass interference, targeting, illegal man downfield, etc. Even though the Clemson game had neutral refs, they. missed the illegal picks on the Clemson TD early. Does this mean after the fiasco yesterday we are overdue for neutral refs against OhioSt?
  3. I haven't read a word of this thread, as I was in RR watching the game with my soon to be 89 year old dad, class of 1960, and my younger brother, who is a North Texas jazz man teaching jazz at a small private college in Indiana. Some observations: 1. This old man still has his marbles, AND fascinates me with some of his analysis. At what I was sure was the end of the year, when the refs looked for targeting against us, I said "they're gonna get us for targeting, game over," and he calmly stated he did not think it was targeting. He was right of course, and I asked him specifically what he saw that made him think it was not targeting, and he replied he "did not see the receiver's head snap back", and I said "I defer to you on any further targeting calls." 2. Of course I probably fascinated him with my prediction that our kicker would miss both kicks and "We need Dicker the Kicker" out there. 3. As far as the RB goes, we gave up calling his name, and substituted "Superman". When we heard he threw up on the sideline, we noticed a specific trend. When he was in the game he was either the decoy or the only offense they had. I will never forget that run near the goal line in which we stopped him but it took 6 of our guys hitting him to knock him down. He took the handoff at the five, immediately got hit with a hit that would make most RBs fall immediately iMO, then kept going and was finally knocked to the ground by the sixth defensive man to contact him at the 2 yard line. 4. I think it is very possible I learned today what fans of teams who played against VY in 2005 must have felt. You don't tug on superman's cape, but sometimes you get lucky and superman finally gets worn out. I cannot believe we actually beat Superman today. If I'm a GM in the NFL today, I take this guy 1st round easy 5. Our Special Teams coach needs some quality time with the best Special Teams coach of all-time to try to figure out how to defend against a fake punt. Is it Bill Belichek? Why do we suck at defending the fake punt? 6. FG kicker? try someone else!!! Is it true we have a stud kicker on scholarship who is not kicking because ????
  4. well PSU has figured out their right side........and left side. this could be over quick.
  5. time for rest vs rust to be settled.
  6. yeah, to me the biggest loser today is Saban's credibility.
  7. smartest play I've seen all year.
  8. no roughing call, no FG. now we get to watch mich go 3 and out. Do refs help out 'bama again, after they get the ball back?
  9. what is funny to me is ESpn keeps showing the 'bama DC, like he is some mastermind or whatever. You could put me in a 'bama coaches outfit over there, and it wouldn't matter. Michigan isn't scoring vs anybody at this point. if ESPN had a clue they would show a picture of a struggling Michigan OC.
  10. This is some pretty ugly football. Deboer is on the hot seat if 'bama loses, correct?
  11. So, she was out of position and then a flag was thrown because she was run over? or what? Seems like the female ref things sucks.
  12. I heard them say that but didn't see it even on the replay. Did he really run over her?
  13. Yes! Like in Round Rock!
  14. Sanders seems like he kinda sucks as a QB...hm who would have predicted that? This is my first time seeing him...not impressed.
  15. I wondered if I was the only one who flashed back to GG against 'bama.
  16. Horns 31 ASU. 11 301
  17. okay, so we did. plenty of things I did not see. However, assuming we go against a better dual-threat QB...Gabriel?.... If we play to this level against them, and they are on top of their game, how many points do we give up? 31? 38?
  18. agree completely. it appears our D coordinator was afraid VY was walking out there and would run an 80 yard TD against us? Is that the choice our D coordinator is making? if our Coordinator is that worried about Cade, how about a spy? Can you have a spy with man-to-man? math? one spy, 4 rushers, that leaves 6 to cover the receivers. isn't 6 DBs and LBs enough to cover 4 receivers plus a tight end plus a RB? I know I must be oversimplifying this. We still have the best athletes in the country on our D, which is considered the #2 best D in the country and we sit there in this stupid, soft Zone like we don't have athletes who can run with and cover the opposing receivers. Up front, our 4 DL can beat any 5 OL to pressure the QB on a fairly regular basis, I believe. What am I missing?
  19. good, so from your memory, about far did Jerry run to catch Bo? I've wondered if someone could do one of those scientific explanations of how fast Jerry was running in mph, how far etc. and extrapolate a 40 time from that.
  20. Of course dude. I decided on his name as a handle because of the hit that knocked Bo Jackson out of the 1984 game in Austin and half the season, but more importantly, the best interception in college football history to that point, the int. against Auburn in Auburn in 1983. I don't know if we talked about DBU before Gray, but we definitely talked about DBU at some point years later and it was in large part because of Jerry Gray. The best factoid ever IMO is that ESPN deleted the 1984 Jerry Gray hit because of Bo's celebrity status? or famous 4.2 40 combine? Who knows but it's gone from the ESPN version. Nobody can accurately describe the play, but I will give it a shot. Gray is on the opposite side of the field as Bo is running and appears to be headed for a TD. Gray runs faster than Bo ever has across the field probably at least 70 yards, takes a perfect angle, and hits Bo so hard it either separated or broke his shoulder. Great stuff!
  21. Good grief! have been away from the computer, so just now getting to what I am sure you guys have covered in detail... 1. Why do we play this pussy-soft zone D, just stand there and watch the receivers run by us and then watch them catch the ball? Cade was very good, but he is not the best we will face? So we've got to have something ready as a change up? Maybe man to man? Maybe run with with the guy when he comes near you? My totally uninformed opinion is that it must be easier to teach/call a zone D than man to man...but you guys tell me. 2. Love the running, it is our best chance. I know QE probably drew some criticism here, but I loved his long ball and great catch. if QE could somehow do that twice a game....I know, too much to ask. 3. D proved again you don't go straight up against us on the goal line and expect to win. I'm glad Dabo and company didn't watch our video against Aggy. Overall, I feel like this was the worst pass D we have played in a long time and we still won by 14? Least comfortable 14 point win I remember. I expect #5 to have an all-world game after his poor performance yesterday. I told my dad during the game that what is really going to determine national champion is luck and injuries, especially luck with injuries, because these guys have never played this many D-1 games in a season. The freshmen might actually have an advantage because they played 15 if they went all of the way to state in Texas. Here's to getting our guys back for the next game, getting a big lead and letting them rest!
  22. Texas 34 Clemson 7 199
  23. Got an article delivered to me about South Garden Chinese on Fredericksburg Road. $8.75 gets you a very nice filling lunch, with your choice of soup, an egg roll, and choice of rice. I chose the chicken with broccoli. I am a cheapo, always drinking water with lemon, so this does the job for me. I went this afternoon, messed up and arrived after 4 p.m. so I had to choose the higher priced dinner menu. For $12.95, I got a tremendous sized platter of the strangest Beef and Broccoli I have ever had. Plenty of beef and broccoli of course, but a serious amount of sliced carrots mixed in as well. Super delicious, I just looked it up and it has 3.9 stars...how? Also, the highest quantity of sauce on a. beef and broccoli ever. I poured the leftover sauce along with the leftover rice, and some sweet and sour sauce back into the cup that contained the soup and ate the combo to finish the meal. Great service on the water refills. Now have the Tex Mex and this Chinese place in good rotation, hearty late lunch can be had for $11 plus tip. Don't really miss a burger at this point. Chinese joint is much healthier I believe.
  24. I just realized this, before yesterday I had never seen my Navy man hero Roger Staubach blessing the game balls by warming up throwing the balls before the game and somehow Navy pulls off the big upset. Does Roger do this every year or what? He is between my mom's age, 83 and my dad's age, 88. Can't believe he can still throw the ball. But it kind of makes sense. He was on the Ticket probably 10 years ago, they asked him how he stays in such great shape. He told them it was one simple rule. 'I break a sweat every day" he told them.
