Penix is a pretty capable runner, so maybe that is the wrinkle they show more of in this game. He's more mobile than most seem to give him credit for.

That brings me to a question. Who do you think starts for Texas at CB? Homes and Muhammad are rated the 2 best cover CBs on the team by PFF. Muhammad is #1.. Brooks is actually last, but I expect him to start. I do wonder if Texas uses Muhammad more at the boundary, than Watts. You give up some run stopping ability and screen game, but you are better down the field. (I would flip that thought vs Michigan, where I want my most physical CB on the field more)
I believe we see Brooks/Watts due to their strong run support. Washington thrives on runs to the edges.

Yea, Penix doesn't make abnormally fast reads post snap. He also trusts his arm too much. His footwork tends to break down as he gets uncomfortable too. Would have loved to see him against UCLA this year.
I don't think we need to get home to have success, but disrupting the short game enough to make him hold the ball and read the field will do wonders.
I'm also interested in seeing how Ethan Burke's rush impacts Penix's tendency to drop way back in his drops. He tends to go more upfield than he should, but it may work out well in this game.
Their tackles are pretty athletic and long but Burke is quick to the edge when he can key on the pass.

That sucks, he was really good. Happy for him though

If you’re not feeling less and less positive about this one as it drags on, good on you. I’m to the point of favoring Bama.
Dream school wins out

I’m no industry expert, but I like Butler’s DB film better than his WR film.
DB film is solid, but he doesn't have the build for it. 5'11ish and shorter arms.
He's slight, but his best asset is his competitiveness. Quick/fast enough and plays tough as hell.

What’s the word on why he would forgive his senior year to get ready for college? Is this another Blue where we have to worry about how much he loves the game?
It's the opposite. He was playing very well this year, but decided to stop so he could take extra classes and be a spring enrollee.

This guy seems very out of left field. When did we start recruiting him?
I'm sure they vetted him some, but he was just offered yesterday.
Impressive for the kid to finish HS early after not planning to until recently

That list is INTs and fumbles lost

Interesting stat

Lol, maybe.
I just really like the class we've put together so far, and don't like head games and manufactured drama.
Everyone is looking to make the best decision for them and those around them. You would do the same. If you have more time to consider all of the angles and potentially sweeten the deal, you would/should do the same.

OK, I dug around a bit. Looks like Wilson has elite burst (4.37 40) but maybe doesn't have elite top end speed. He long jumped over 2 feet farther than my kid.
I'd certainly rather have acceleration over top speed in most receivers. No idea where this Texas target stands in that regard.
Wilson ran 4.63 at the opening as a junior or so, ripped off that 4.37 at the NFL combine. Some of my friends up there said he was immediately one of the most explosive guys on the team the minute he stepped foot in Columbus. They tend to overrate their own guys, but that was the sentiment shared. He's got short range burst and long speed.
HS/camp times aren't the end all be all

Same, I watched him plenty after his title game as a junior and thought he was a scrappy gamer at QB. High 5 star guy? Nah

DeAndre Moore could develop into an Evan Stewart type player with better blocking offset by lower catch radius.
Nah.

I think everyone is an EE outside of Hills, Kibble, Kern, and Wilson
So about 20 new guys coming to campus in January.

Sark says he may have 2o new players on the roster when school starts in January, because of early enrollment.
Probably referring to TyAnthony Smith's pending decision
-
Barring injury, he's gonna be a solid rotational guy next year. I think he'll get to around 240-245 by the start of the season.

Good news for aggy but the schadenfreude for Florida is worth it.
That's the same guy we were going after for a bit, but eventually passed on. Talented route runner. Good get for them

Best of luck to him. Seriously, he could fall in our lap after a season or so.
Hook’em!!!His next destination is likely Tyler J.C.
Maybe SHSU if he has the grades.

Composite #38 and #1 RB. I suppose it’s about 100% he’s on campus at this point.
We do have money!
Signing doesn't mean he'll make it to campus, but he's a summer enrollee right? Maybe he decides to go baseball after his season ends.

I gotta be honest, I forgot Hampton was even in the class until this Bama / Saban flip thing came about yesterday.
But then I looked on some random Alabama board and was informed that, "dare I say he reminds me of Waddle?? similar size and athleticism and both are from Texas."
Waddle was significantly more polished and explosive coming out of HS.

If you guys really believe the "Wingo's still asleep" silliness, you are dumber than the idiot reporting it, and that would be quite a feat.
Worse than the ongoing commentary about who is doing things right today and who isn't, which is tedious and nauseating on this thread today, is this kind excusemaking for idiots that aren't worth the stanning.
Drink your coffee, I'm not excusing shit. I literally said they should be livestreaming right now.
Bobby has been growing his channel in more effective ways and for a longer period of time, of course they'll have more views today.
It's like comparing black friday sales of an established business to a fledgling one.
I think IT is run by a smug moron, but I can be rational about it.

Nearly 3k viewers.......
The fat piggy @TheMailBox357 only has 1.3k
For comparison to Aggie, TexAgs stream has less than 1k.
Biggest recruiting day of the year and IT isn't streaming. Such an unserious website that ego ruined a relationship
As much as I welcome shitting on IT, they literally just started trying to build their channel. This is what happens. They should be livestreaming though, today is a good day to pick up new eyeballs and subs

Maybe a good sign? They've accepted they aren't getting Wingo and are trying to flip this guy now?
They're looking to load up at WR. They just got another highly rated guy like 2-3 days ago

I've watched just about every UW game this year. Penix is a capable scrambler, I think he'd beat Ford or Thompson/Taaffe to the edge if he needed to. I don't think he has much wiggle after the two torn acls in his right knee, but he can get going in a single direction.
They may not want to, but they can, and we have shown some vulnerability there this season.
I expect Quinn to run when given the opportunity on Monday as well.
