  1. I don’t think Twice is for taxing churches in general like you, but for removing the exemption for those who violate its terms, like this one.
  2. To be fair, you’d miss a spectacular Helobiousing if you skipped this one. That’s a possibility on literally any thread at all, of course, but you never know which one.
  3. That’s fair. I conflated your response with the post I initially responded to.
  4. I don’t think that’s weird. 1) I don’t think garbage time against ULM with a bunch of backups is indicative of anything at all; 2) I didn’t include Alabama because it makes a real difference preparing all week to start vs being thrown in unexpectedly. But sure, we can include that one for the sake of argument. I still don’t see this plethora of bad sacks you mentioned. But rehashing last season doesn’t really matter at this point I guess.
  5. Those fancy stats don’t mean anything when your gut says he should be leading off. It’s the best way to build his confidence.
  6. Speaking of eye tests, Card was sacked 3 total times in the 3 games he started.
  7. Ideally, he has good speed and can lead off.
  8. His leash should have actually been shorter than it was last year last year, so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
  9. It does if it’s a symptom of chronic arsenic poisoning. Dusty has been playing the long game for the last 3 seasons.
  10. Between the Astros cautious approach to injuries in general and Dusty’s aversion to playing McCormick even without any excuse, I’d look for him to be back after the All-Star break.
  11. To be fair, Meyers’ putrid wRC+ of 77 right now is somehow higher than what he managed last season, so I wouldn’t be *that* confident. He is consistently terrible, though, so sustainable in that sense, you’re right.
  12. There’s a reason for that. It’s rooted in a much larger sample size than the 8(!) games Gurriel has played so far.
  13. I’d rather not have the worst qualified 1B in the league, like say Gurriel in 2022.
  14. There really aren’t any available CFs who would be an upgrade over McCormick, so I doubt it. The biggest hole on the off-season after 1B was a LF/DH type, which was addressed with Brantley-all joking aside about his availability, there were better options available and money to spend.
  15. Better than Brantley’s, whoever they are.
  16. The reason to have 3 catchers was so Diaz could play DH/LF/1B in addition to backup catcher, and you could then pinch hit for Maldonado without losing the DH (or shuffling everyone around). But 1) Diaz is barely even playing catcher, let alone anywhere else and 2) if you don’t pinch hit for Maldonado last night, you never will. There’s zero reason for a third catcher at this point.
  17. I wouldn’t be shocked if Dusty poked Chas in the eye to cause his vision problems.
  18. Yeah, I believe all the buzz this time a year ago was how the Angels had finally put it together and were going to bury the Astros. They went on to take the division race down to the wire, finishing a mere 33 games back.
  19. That was Hensley. Maldonado was in the dugout after flailing away in his at bat.
  20. Doing what’s utterly predictable for one of the worst hitters in baseball history. He shouldn’t have even been up there.
  21. The Orioles had a 10 game winning streak last season in the middle of an 83 win season. Of course they can - baseball is weird.
  22. Irrelevant. Dusty plans for him to languish on the bench.
