  1. This right here: https://www.andar.com/collections/the-wallets/products/the-apollo?variant=32590980238
  2. Well he’s still going to count about $46 million a year against it, which is a massive amount, the most ever. And this deal requires pretty much the perfect storm of a guy who makes enough in endorsements and wants to win badly enough that he’s willing to defer almost his entire salary to get it down even to that number. But it’s definitely pushing the limits of it, yeah. I would expect this sort of contract to be addressed in the next CBA. Maybe put a limit on the percentage of total salary you can defer? I don’t know.
  3. I do enjoy life. And sports. I just happen to think that this contract won’t be worth it *on the field.* Sorry that simple difference of opinion somehow triggered you and resulted in bizarre armchair psychoanalysis.
  4. You might consider the irony of acting as a gatekeeper for how people should properly follow a sport while simultaneously deriding others as killjoys.
  5. As soon as you remind me what revenue has to do with his production. There are two different discussions going on here.
  6. Depending on whether or not he pitches again, I wouldn’t bet on him accumulating 50 WAR over the course of the deal anyway.
  7. It will be the greatest lineup to ever go out in the first round of the playoffs.
  8. If only that were true for Applewhite and we were spared from his time as OC.
  9. Maybe they’ll even make it past the division series this year!
  10. I don’t see why not now that there’s no unbalanced schedule.
  11. Putting EDGE in all caps alongside defensive tackle and wide receiver triggers me even more than when it is used as an abbreviation.
  12. We just got done paying Maldonado 2/$9.5 for a combined -0.7 fWAR across 230 games. Caratini put up 1.1 in only 62 games last year alone (more than Maldonado did in his entire stint with the Astros). 2/$12 seems like a steal in that light.
  13. As it is, it’s only his major knee injuries in successive seasons that seem to have been forgotten.
  14. It’s fascinating to look at their career stats-they are nearly identical all across the board.
  15. I mean, Jim Edmonds has people who think he belongs in the Hall of Fame for that.
  16. Ok. If we want to be pedantic. Youll thank them later for giving more playing time to the obviously inferior player. Happy now, Dusty?
