  1. The good news: we got Benfica The bad news: Trent is out for 4-6 weeks with a hammy. Excuse me while I go puke.

Strange feeling to be cheering for Burnley and Leeds.

  4. Our boy Nathaniel Clyne helps Palace keep a clean sheet against City. Hard to believe he's just 30.

I know people are piling on re: your oligarch overlord, but you owe it to yourself to learn more about the Hillsborough disaster. That's a disgusting thing to say about a horrific, preventable tragedy and you're pissing on the graves of 97 innocent people, many of them children. You wanna talk shit about Liverpool, there's plenty. Stevie's slip. Any number of Luis Suarez incidents and the club's embarrassing handling of them. Shit, we employed Roy fucking Hodgson for awhile. But don't parrot ignorant, abhorrent vile about the people who lost their lives due to police incompetence.
  6. Diaz the clear MotM today but damn was Naby good today. His form since AFCON has been the best of his LFC career. Really nice to take care of business vs a Brighton team that always seems to do well against us.
  7. Klopp said today that the contract situation is now in Mo's hands. Not really sure what to make of all that tbh.

Chelsea is pretty fortunate to have drawn Lille in the CL since they can reasonably take the train there. Assuming their 2-0 lead holds, they'll have to hope they draw Liverpool, City, or ManU (if they get past Atleti). Would be a helluva bus ride to Benfica.

Honestly this is probably just posturing from Parliament in order to expedite the sale. Let's just hope Woody Johnson readies his bid and then brings them back to their pre-Oligarch mediocrity.

Couldn't happen to a shittier club or shittier fanbase.
  11. Watched a few minutes of the Manc derby today and Grealish went down screaming and writhing in pain after Fred came within two feet of tackling him. He feigned injury for about 15 seconds before realizing he wasn't getting the call. Comms made no mention of it, naturally.
  12. Naby is a funny player in how polarizing he is. He had the hockey assist yesterday and a couple of crucial tackles but as pointed out, he isn’t given a ton of attacking license since our fullbacks get so high up the pitch. I think part of it is that he’s being asked to play more of the Gini role despite being a very creative player prior to him coming to Liverpool. The other issue is that his fitness record has been utter shit so he can’t really be an all-action box-to-box MF. But he’s been in his best form post-Afcon and long may it continue. He nearly set up a goal last week after Mendy spilled his shot from outside the box. Helluva double save from Mendy to deny Mane.
  13. Jota picked up a knock on his ankle. Apparently it was swollen at half but hopefully it's not too bad. Would hate for him to miss the League Cup final.
  14. First time I can remember having absolutely no idea what the midfield and front three will look like. I'd love to see: Elliott --- Fabinho --- Thiago Salah --- Jota --- Diaz

Wolves finished 7th in back-to-back seasons and also made it to the quarterfinals of Europa League under Nuno. Obviously he was a bad choice to take over a messy situation at Spurs but he'll go down as a legend at Wolves for bringing them back to the PL and keeping them there.

West Ham loses another sponsor after Zouma backlash Meanwhile, no sponsor seems to bat an eye about the World Cup in Qatar.
  17. tfw a shit team is two places ahead of you in the table.
  18. I would imagine Mo gets at least some time to rest. The last three matches for Egypt all went 120 minutes, which adds up to an extra 90 minutes, after an already grueling month-long tournament. Plus travel, in-form Jota, the new boy in Diaz, Elliott's availability, etc. means we don't desperately need them. Would hate for either of them to pick up an injury from having been run into the ground. Substitute appearance against Burnley would be my guess but maybe they'll get 60 or so. Would hate to be the one to tell Mo he's not playing.

    AFCON 2022

It was actually a lot more entertaining than the semis, though I guess that's not saying much. Mané with an early missed PK, a bunch of late game chances with some amazing saves, and then penalty drama. Really nice to see Senegal win it for the first time. Such a talented team.
  20. Lol this dude has basically the injury record of Naby and Jomez. Incredible player but it's always something with him.
  21. Oh damn, didn't realize he'd been in such good form for the Cherries. I just remember getting £19M from a guy who scored four goals in 63 PL appearances.
  22. It'll be interesting to see how Nat does when he's surrounded by lesser talent. (Albeit playing against lesser talent as well.) Hope he does well and it pans out for him at Bournemouth, they're certainly due for a good player from us after we sold them Ibe, Solanke, and Brad Smith. Woof.
  23. Just watching YouTube compilations he reminds me of Keita. Definitely a more attacking midfielder but not afraid to get stuck in and win the ball back. Kinda hard to see us re-signing Naby unless he can put his fitness issues behind him so it makes sense that Carvalho would be his replacement.
