  1. Assumes facts not in evidence. All we know for sure is that they packed it in and UGA didn’t.
  2. Then they should’ve said that instead of acting so aggrieved and then quitting when they had a chance to demonstrate how good they still were.
  3. When I was growing up, Darrell Royal was Texas football as far as I was concerned. I wanted him to kick ass because, from a kid’s perspective, he was larger than life. He was just the fucking man. Since then, I’ve wanted Texas coaches to succeed because I wanted Texas to succeed. They were a means to an end, more or less. Even though I’m far from a kid anymore, I want Sarkisian to be the fucking man. I want him to have the personal and professional satisfaction that comes with that. There’s precedent for a coach stepping up from Washington to Texas and doing pretty well. Add in what he did to A&M on the field and I’m hoping we’re looking for things to name after him at some point and that it brings him whatever validation, internal and external, he’s looking for.
  4. There’s plenty of time for that after he kicks college football’s ass.
  5. I don’t watch any games around anyone. No internet. Ideally, enough DVR delay that I can FF any shit parts which I can watch later if Texas wins or forget about forever if not.
  6. Man, those were some brutal games in the mid-70s.
  7. When, in your best case explanation, your plan confused the officials, it was dumb.
  8. It’s treated as a plural whereas “Aggie” is singular.
  9. It’s nothing like a salary cap, though.
  10. Texas’ A game is 14 points better than Washington’s. If it’s a blowout, it’s almost certainly Washington on the short end of it. If I knew for sure when Texas was going to show up with the A game and when not, there’d be at least another zero on the right side of my net worth. So there’s that. That said, I don’t expect Texas to get up 20 and fuck around as in three of the less than stellar games. I expect Texas to have some frustrating times but to go all python on their asses until, like Anthony Hill said (in general), you can see in their eyes that they’ve quit.
  11. We still have the week before the championship game to fill, so don’t get too comfortable.
  12. I’m a big fan of them lately.
  13. And the salary cap is still different from, essentially, NIL for pro players. There are players, Gronkowski among them unless I’m wrong, who live on their advertising income and invest their paychecks.
  14. So now, instead of having at least some sympathy even among people who didn’t think you should be in the playoffs, you doubled down on being crybaby bitches, got curbstomped, and now have this bowl game defining your season… top notch decision making.
  15. By whom? ”Hey, guy, you can’t pay QB1 that much to do this thing.” The NCAA going to do that? The feds? The states? The conferences?
  16. I’d say the opt outs were part of the “little bitches” behavior.
  17. It wouldn’t sound as enticing if they said “let them break the rules as much as they want at the end of the game.” Even apart from the inherent idiocy of ignoring the rules, the idea of calling PI one way for 58 minutes and then differently at the end of the game should be self-refuting.
  18. All they had to do was beat Alabama at a neutral site. Not even in Tuscaloosa.
  19. Texas wasn’t getting in over Washington. Texas got in because there weren’t four undefeated conference champions.
  20. I think you’re missing the point being made.
  21. We have a pond in the back. We have a pool and a pond... Pond'd be good for you.
  22. Watching some of the Rose Parade then ducking into a bar to drink screwdrivers and watch that game before heading to the Rose Bowl. Having Michigan fans warning us about the upcoming trip to Columbus. Good fucking times.
  23. FedEx packages when others weren’t as willing to do it worked pretty well for them, within their context.
  24. It’s not hard to see why Choice is so good at what he does. His segment was my favorite part of this.
