  1. This summer on one of the podcasts, Gerry was talking about Florida high school players and what a good leader and teammate Cedric Baxter was. Basically said that when he was injured, he was engaged during games, coaching teammates, always at practice. He the said there was a 5 star DL in Florida that would show up late to practice, leave early, and basically didn’t give a shit about his team. Guess who he was talking about?
  2. He doesn't have a rolodex... that's the problem. Same issue Strong and Herman had. I love the fact they fired Jimbo and hired a guy that was big part of that culture. Now they plan on having Elko police the locker room and expect different results from the players he recruited and coaches while there? LMAO! Why fire Jimbo at all. They blew up what was left of that program to hire a guy that was a part of the downfall to begin with.
  3. I imagine they are pitching Neyor to stick around and compete for AD's spot and if it doesn't work out, he gets his degree and can grad transfer in the spring. AD has 10 TDs on the year right? That's a lot of production to entice someone with. With everything said, Texas is going to be in a position to cherry pick elite transfers from the portal. No need to bank on a dude that has been injured 3 of the 4 years he has been in college. I think Texas is going to get some dudes that will be ready to compete on a CFP contending team. If Neyor shows up in the spring killing it, great. If not, Texas still needs to get 1-2 portal WRs that are ready to go.
  4. Gerry mentioned Bama are Auburn are going after Terrance Hibler. If he takes an official visit to Bama, the writing may be on the wall. Also mentioned Hibler has already visited Texas twice and that if he doesn't visit Bama, probably good news for Texas. But what a fucking great evaluation by this staff. Seeing other big programs go after our early offers is a great indicator Sark and recruiting staff know how to evaluate. Flood flying to see Carter is interesting. I don't think we do that if there isn't a legit chance of a flip. Looks like Filsame is likely to flip as they have plans to take an official visit soon. I think we end it with Filsame, Carter, Black, and 1 of Hibler, Lindsey, or McKinnley. I'd go with Hibler of the bunch.
  5. This is fucking hilarious. They paid a boat load of money to buy a bunch of mercenaries that did not want to be there in the first place but their offers were so far beyond market value at the time, kids were reclassifying to get some of that money. They also extended an already ridiculous contract for Jimbo. Texas ends up accomplishing something they never could, making the CFP. This was too much for them. They stupidly fire their HC in a panic with no fucking game plan and exhaust their funds on this contract to where they limit themselves on their next HC hire. What decent head coach, coordinators, or assistant coaches wants to walk into that dumpster fire knowing they have a Jimbo's shit to clean up and now doing that against Texas that is back on top. It took FSU nearly a decade to get out of the fucking dumps with what Jimbo left and that was with a down Miami and Florida. So they proceed to bring back their previous DC, who really wasn't all that great to begin with. They lose their best assistant that is holding their roster together. And their solution is to just pay those players more so they don't leave. Well... that only works to a certain extent. At some point, these sophomores know they have 1 year left to put good tape before the draft. Most will likely take less money to get out of the dump. The only ones that will stay will be the ones that don't have a future NFL on the line and the only reason they will be staying is to cash a check. Texas has been through this guys. We've hired G5 coaches that brought shitty staff with them. We've had rosters full of guys that came to Texas for the wrong reasons. We've seen first hand what it's like crawling out of the dumps against rivals that are winning and have momentum. Enjoy this fellas. This is going to be a long journey for them. There's only so much money their donors are willing to put up for a shit product. Nothing about Elko is inspiring to recruits, assistants, coordinators, or the donors. There will be a decade of aggy tears to come.
  6. He’s learned under two of the best. He’s also been hired by the best. Dude can recruit as well as anyone in the country. Elite skill players want to play for him. He has an NFL level staff and fantastic evaluators. Sark is going to win this whole damn thing and we’re going to be a problem in college football for a while.
  7. We are in. You dudes gotta get the sand out your vaginas. It will be Mich, Wash, Texas, Bama. FSU is going to get the shaft here or Bama. Not sure how the committee will sit there with a straight face after pumping UGA and Oregon being the 2 best teams most of the season and both losing. They don’t know shit. It’s easy to explain Bama being out bc they lost head to head. It’s going to be hard for them to explain how they leave Texas behind. Also, Bama looked like pure trash last week needing a miracle on 4th and 31 to win their game against a 5-7 Auburn team.
  8. I’m about to cancel hbo/max after having it for 20 years. HBO used to have great shows but there is no decent new content what so ever since they merged. Anyone else feel this way?
  9. I cannot believe the prize is 4.5 mil. Crazy.
  10. Well he’s getting the info straight from the kid and his dad soooo yeah… I kinda give a shit what he has to say.
  11. I hope you’re right but Gerry has said they are different positions and not the same position Florida is recruiting Filsame.
  12. It’s crazy how many advantages aggy had the last few years that have disappeared into thin air. They could tout SEC, active national championship winning head coach, NFL development, and bag game. Now they can sell losing to Texas, producing few draft picks last year and this year, and playing for a 7-5 Duke head coach, and not having real NiL like Texas does.
  13. Has Elijah Robinson ever called plays? Hell Price was coaching the D-line. Aggy would be stupid enough to find a way to make Jimbo’s bagman their head coach.
  14. There was nothing middling about beating a ranked KSU, defending big 12 championship team with our back up QB. People are talking about Oregon’s big win against Oregon state lmao. KSU would smoke Oregon state.
  15. But but but… eye test. Oregon hasn’t played anyone worth a shit except Washington who they lost to. Same team almost lost to that shitty Tech team we just butt fucked.
  16. Stick to watching pac 12 games. How about the 38-30 beauty contest against tech. The only reason Oregon was ahead of us initially bc they throttled a ranked colorado team and a ranked Utah team that were both farces. With no common opponents, being mid way through the season… strength of schedule didn’t come into play and we also had our back up qb. It’s going to be totally different. Is Oregon’s win against a team they lost to going to be better than our road win against #3 Bama? Nope. Will Oregon have a better strength of schedule? Nope. Will Oregon have beaten more ranked teams? Nope. Will Oregon have an advantage in common opponent? Nope. You’re simply relying on an eye test. If Texas wins another game 40-17 or along those lines…. Then I’m not sure the committee will be able to find any reason to keep Oregon in front of us.
  17. This is not happening man if the other conference champs have 1 loss as well. It doesn’t matter how many people say it.
  18. Oregon’s best win is an 8-4 Oregon state team. If we blow out ranked 9-3 okie lite, it will be just as good if not a better win. Our win at Bama trumps their potential best win against Washington who is scraping by teams. Beating an average Oregon State team isn’t the reason they will get in ahead of us. During our game, ABC already started the argument for us by putting up the graphics of our resume vs Oregon. That wasn’t by mistake. They want Texas in and there will be a lot of pressure from Disney/ABC to have us in because of all the eye balls we bring and money we bring. Don’t kid yourself.
  19. Your entire premise is flawed bc the committee has already moved teams around ahead of us. They have had no reason to move Texas until now. Now we have a common opponent and look good too. Also, when the rankings came out, we had no idea how long Quinn was going to be out and we’re ranked with our back ok QB.
  20. Mother fucking this! The worst thing for Texas is Michigan, UGA, FSU, Washington winning out. If any of those 4 teams losses, we are likely in. If Oregon wins, we really need Bama to win out.
  21. If Bama wins out, you think the committee would pick Oregon over Texas despite Texas being better in every comparable statistic and also having a common opponent that has Texas whipping them? In this scenario, the committee would pass up Texas to put Oregon in when Texas will have a double digit win on the road against another CFP team in Bama? It doesn’t matter if Oregon beats Washington. Both teams will be 1 loss teams. In this scenario, CFP committee will have to say “Yes, we left out Texas who has a better strength of schedule, beaten more ranked teams, has the best win of the year against another CFP team… but Oregon wins the eye test”. That isn’t happening man. If Texas beats okie lite by 20+ points…. The more chaos, the more it favors Texas.
  22. Exactly. Those rankings came out halfway through the season. Let the conference championship games play out and let them the. decide with an entire body of work. They will have to then pick between two teams with equal record, both conference champions. One with a top 10 strength of schedule, best win of the year, beating 4 ranked opponents, and finally playing and winning big. When the talking heads pull up those graphics on tv showing Texas and Oregon’s resume, you tell me which way all those committee members will lean. Oregon was beating overrated Utah and Colorado teams when they were “looking” good. Klatt has already jumped Texas ahead of FSU in his latest rankings. This will work itself out if Texas wins big and if any of Washington losing, FSU losing or Bama winning out plays out. The only scenario where Texas gets left out is the undefeated stay undefeated.
  23. edit: misread your post. Looks like we agree mainly. Most years yes. However, can you name one out of conference marquee win for the SEC? Missouri beating K-state on a 60 yard game winning FG is their best win as a conference. A team we beat with our back up QB. LSU and Florida lost to FSU. Florida lost to Utah. Bama lost to Texas. Aggy lost to Miami. Auburn lost to New Mexico State. UGA and Bama are CFP worthy and the rest of the league is spares. If the committee decides to put a 1 loss Bama team, they will have to state why they jumped Texas. A team they lost to at home by 10 in a game where they were dominated on the line of scrimmage. If they let Bama in, they will have to also put Texas in. There is a reason Bama is behind us in the rankings despite them “looking” better through mid season until this last week.
