AVCA is notoriously stubborn with dropping teams who don't lose. Hell, sometimes you lose and don't at all - Baylor moved up a spot after we swept them and Pitt is behind Kentucky, who they swept.
The resume arguing over Nebraska/Texas currently is going to look like:
Nebraska swept Stanford, who took Texas to 5
But Texas swept Creighton, who took Nebraska to 5
So, a wash.
Kentucky and Wisconsin will be our only other common opponents this year - Texas plays Kentucky on November 2 (Kentucky took Nebraska to 5) and Nebraska will play Wisconsin on October 31 (Texas swept Wisconsin)
Nebraska plays the following ranked or RV teams in B1G play: Michigan (RV) x2, 15 Penn State x2, 10 Purdue, 7 Wisconsin, Oregon (RV), 12 Minnesota, UCLA (RV), 17 USC
Texas plays the following ranked or RV teams in SEC play: 3 Kentucky, 13 aggy, 19 Florida, 21 Missouri, 22 Tennessee, South Carolina (RV)
Assuming rankings hold, Nebraska will play a total of 14 ranked or RV teams and Texas will play 13 ranked or RV teams. Texas played 7 of theirs in non-conference, so it is likely Nebraska is going to take a loss or two (or three) in B1G play, playing 10 ranked or RV teams.
It is very likely at some point, Texas moves up to #1 for a brief time. Don't be surprised if Texas and Nebraska just flip flop at #1 and #2 in the polls during conference play.
They are by far the 2 best teams in the country, right now.
