  1. And more love! https://www.secsports.com/news/2025/09/sec-volleyball-players-of-the-week-sept-22 SEC Setter of the Week Texas’ Ella Swindle, a junior from Columbia, Mo., averaged 11.00 assists per set and helped the Longhorns to a .425 team hitting percentage in wins over No. 9 TCU and No. 21 Baylor. Swindle registered 35 assists, two kills, one block and one ace in the sweep over the Horned Frogs. She added 31 assists, five digs, three aces, one kill and one block in the sweep over the Bears. SEC Freshman of the Week Texas’ Cari Spears, a right side from Frisco, Texas, averaged 5.33 points and 4.67 kills per set and owned a .600 hitting percentage in wins over No. 9 TCU and No. 21 Baylor to help the Longhorns remain undefeated in non-conference matches this season. On Wednesday, Spears registered 10 kills on 19 swings and zero errors for a .526 hitting percentage and added five digs and three blocks in the sweep of the Horned Frogs. On Friday, she matched her career-high mark of 18 kills on 26 attempts and one error for a .654 hitting percentage and also tallied four digs, three blocks, one ace and one assist in the three-set win over the Bears.
  2. From ESPN. Yes it will be a clean slate, with some repeats (like you said, will have to happen in some way) and unbalanced home/road since it is 9 games. Texas has a P4 OOC home game (Ohio State), so I guess we should expect 5 road games (1 should be the OU game, since we are the home team this year) and 4 home games in conference play. The formula of records the SEC used to calculate how to slot teams came from a combined league record during the past four years. Ole Miss, for example, was fourth among the 16 SEC teams in that time frame and Auburn was 14th. Oklahoma and Texas carried over three seasons from the Big 12 for the purposes of the data. The schedules are going to be built with a clean slate for the next four years, which means there could be hiccups, such as repeat games from the prior season. Some matchups could also be attributed to the unbalanced schedule -- five home and four road games or vice versa. A priority for balance was given to teams for 2026 as they'd be more likely to get five home games if they had a power conference game on the road.
  3. I WANT TO PLAY NEW TEAMS DAMNIT We made fun of aggy playing Georgia once in 13 years too much
  4. 5. I think there's going to be a lot of grumbling if we avoid a bunch of conference teams to play repeat opponents (outside of OU, arky, aggy) from 2024 and 2025. The whole deal has been to ensure everyone plays everyone in a 4/6 year span (since there will always be an odd team out). If they want the "marquee" Texas game a la Texas/Georgia, it would likely be Bama. Personally, I think it won't be them because we just had them in 2022 and 2023. It's been decades since we played most of those 7 leftover teams, with the exceptions of Bama (2022/23), Ole Miss (13) and Mizzou (17).

  7. TV ratings say no Missouri Competitive balance says Missouri over Alabama to soften our schedule a little But TV and money always decides.
  8. I mean, the bar is 6 feet underground, but we keep digging 2 more feet to lower it.
  9. I assume it requires the NCAA to approve a 14th game so you can do a 2 round conference playoff 3 non-conf games 9 SEC games 1 v 4 and 2 v 3 SEC semifinals SEC conf champ game + CFP games

  14. I’m not worried about divisions. I think eventually we will move into 4 team pods and have a 2 round SEC playoff for the championship But that requires a change in NCAA rules, I believe
