  1. The committee has shown to be susceptible to pressure before to change its mind. I still think they are trying to justify getting Miami in based on certain pressure and are setting it up so that ND and Miami are next to each other in the final rankings once BYU drops. They'll then flip them based upon the head to head.
  2. Strange thing is I actually we could be setup pretty well for next year. But we really need better teaching on blocking scheme and technique, and better coordination with the line.
  3. We didn't have great personnel for it this year and didn't execute well. But it worked really well against A&M.
  4. But like, if the rules were better, we could get both. That's what everyone should want.
  5. Didn't we play a decent amount of 12 personnel vs A&M?
  6. Miami at 12 you say? Marco Rubio says CFP should be 'scrapped' if Miami doesn't make playoff I'm sure the threat of government taking over had no impact whatsoever on the discussions.
  7. This is the actual answer and solves everything.
  8. I think you're confused. The records indicate ranking at time for historical purposes. That's just documentation, not analysis. All the actual analysis is based upon what the teams turn out to be. Things like FEI, SP+, and you know, the actual playoff rankings, are all based upon the full season context. For our purposes, when comparing playoff resumes, you do that analysis based upon the complete picture. Suggesting otherwise is moronic.
  9. Your method is stupid and indefensible.
  10. No. If we are looking at the quality of the wins to compare resumes, we know objectively that Auburn isn't a ranked win. Come on now. The point is to figure out what teams are the best and have accomplished the most, not brag over what were essentially preseason rankings. But shit, if we can just play pretend, I say we are still #1 because we were before week 1 was played.
  11. That's the only rule that makes sense. I have no problem dropping that as 3 wins against the top 13 seems fine to me.
  12. As a fan of watching good football, I care. The rules should encourage interesting games. If the current rules don't, they should be changed. Again, I would count every game against an FCS opponent as a loss. This year, that means every team in the playoffs hunt other than Texas and Notre Dame would have an extra loss.
  13. No it didn't. Auburn is not a ranked team. Tennessee is not a ranked team. Their ranked wins as of today are #10 Alabama, #18 Michigan, and #25 mizzou. Ours are #7 A&M, #8 OU, and # 13 Vandy.
  14. That's literally what happened.
  15. I maintain that anything under FBS should always be counted a loss. That solves a lot of problems. It encourages playing better opponents. It punishes playing scheduling completely bullshit cupcake games. There are plenty of full division 1 teams to pick up from. A&M has 2 losses (Samford) Alabama has 3 losses (E Illinois) Indiana has 1 loss (Indiana St) Georgia has 2 losses (Austin Peay) Texas Tech has 2 losses (AR-Pine Bluff) Oregon has 2 losses (Montana State) Miami has 3 losses (Bethune) Ole Miss has 2 losses (the citadel) Oklahoma has 3 losses (Illinois State) BYU has 2 losses (Portland St) Utah has 3 loses (Cal Poly) Vanderbilt has 3 losses (Charleston Southern) And so on. Texas and Notre Dame are the only teams in the playoff picture that haven't sullied their record with that bullshit. The fact that everyone else has tells me my idea is the correct one.
  16. Other Big 12 teams, including ones that have already been to the playoffs, haven't had that problem. Maybe Tech is just an asshole.
  17. Well, fuck me. I suck at counting. Damn you and your soonering. It is still a stupid list.
  18. But it would be wrong that way too. OU didn't play 6 teams that were ranked at the time they were played. It only gets to 6 if you count Texas. But if you count Texas, there should be 2 losses.
  19. Uh, what? That list is stupidly wrong. As an obvious one, OU has two loses to the top 25 unless we are saying either Texas or Ole Miss aren't top 25. That list is also considering Tennessee and Auburn as top 25 based on when they played as opposed to, you know, how the season turned out. A&M has only played 3 current top 25. Miami has played Notre Dame and that is it. Apparently, this listing was counting 5-7 Florida State, 8-4 Pitt, and 9-3 South Florida as top 25 teams. None of these teams are currently ranked. We are correctly listed as 3-2 against the top 25. But is actually 3-2 against the top 13.
  20. Unless the law has changed recently, it is a fiduciary duty. Or at the very least associates at a law firm have a fiduciary duty to the firm (as we know from disputes between some Houston lawyers). I assume that applies more broadly, but maybe lawyers are special in that regard.
  21. Maybe breach of fiduciary duty (good argument under Texas law, don't know about Mississippi). But I don't see tortious interference. Limitations on choosing employment are pretty tightly restricted at this point. Even a really good non-compete clause may not survive scrutiny here. He'll be better than Kelly.
