  1. A lot of tough talk for a program that has been good for at least 4 losses more often than not since their current coach has been there. Aggy gets made fun of for having the same type of seasons ISU puffs their chest out over. 5 star culture, my ass.
  2. If this was 25 years ago, I would agree with you. But the game has changed, and if you want to win NC's, you've got to run a national program. Look at the classes of all the programs we want to compete with. Imo, it's much more important these days for a coach to be able to navigate all the unique aspects of the modern game (NIL, portal) than an intimate history with the state HS football scene. If you are good at building relationships, that's all that matters.
  3. The cliff we fell off of as soon as Colt and Shipley left should illustrate the state of the oline during that time period. Weren't we starting a youth minister at tackle or something?
  4. I haven't watched much Oregon, but is Bo Nix really that good now? Feels like he has been around as long as Jwhitt and I wasn't super impressed with him before.
  5. I legit forgot what thread I clicked on.
  6. I don't know what the point is in stacking all this WR talent if we're just going to keep half of them on the bench. I think Sark sometimes gets so wrapped up in what he WANTS to do, that he forgets the things we CAN do if they don't fall into his previous ideas of what he wants to do. Also, probably a little bit of coaching ego for running HIS system. Seems to be a running theme with a lot of coaches. This is the same guy that witnessed VY in person and still doesn't believe in quarterbacks running.
  7. Something about baked goods.
  8. Funniest part is even Auburn, which on paper is probably a worse job, has had far more success than Aggy.
  9. Who would have thought, after all we've been through the past decade, that us going 9-1 would be when this place goes off the deep end.
  10. Do you have any idea where you are?
  11. The idea that Ames at night is some house of horrors is one of those things that I've noticed for years now, but still don't remember when, and where it came from. Next week worries me because this team has trouble finishing games and stalls out their momentum with inexplicable decisions across the board. Not because of Ames or Mr. 5 loss per year culture. These next two games are about how Texas is able to handle business.
  12. I still feel like this team can beat anyone at anytime. Problem is, I feel like they can blow it against any P5 opponent with a pulse as well. Oh well. Beats Turtle Tom or one of Charlie's TCU catastrophes.
  13. We're playing Nebraska? Well that eases a lot of concerns!
  14. It's just gotten comical at this point. But whatever. 9-1. Can't complain too much after the decade we've had.
  15. Why go horizontal there?
  16. Yep. Momentum is the most important thing at that point. Fuck the numbers.
  17. Wtf was that sandlot shit?
  18. Honest question for those that want Maalik gone next year. If Arch ends up being the guy, who is backing him up?
  19. Bingo. He's not a championship level college qb at the moment, but we are 2-0 with Murphy and now have our starter back. We should be ecstatic, but instead some miserable sections of this fanbase still have to go out of their way to shit on Maalik, who looked no worse than Quinn at times last year with LESS live reps. Fucking pathetic.
  20. Iirc even that was regarding something that allegedly happened on campus. Not in the damn stands after a game.
  21. I'm still not convinced we make it to Arlington. But if there is a 1 loss conference champion Texas, who is to say we don't get the nod over Oregon for pure novelty sake? Oregon has a good brand, but I can't imagine they bring Texas numbers from a viewership perspective. Especially since they have been to the playoff and Texas would be a first timer. In theory, Texas would probably be the more interesting pick. Not saying that would be the right decision, but it illustrates the problem with this process. Nobody knows. At the end of the day, it comes down to how they feel at the moment.
  22. What's his health like? When we entered the season, I was under the impression he was 100 percent; but I haven't seen near as much of him as I was expecting this year.
  23. That's really my main problem with this committee business. There is no set criteria for getting into the playoffs. It's just the whim of a group of people. The whole thing feels more like an invitational than an actual playoff. The BCS, for all its faults, at least was transparent. We knew exactly what it valued and projections for the rankings were usually pretty damn accurate iirc. I remember the media saying (while visibly bummed I might add) that Texas was going to be ahead of Cal the night before the final rankings came out in 04.
  24. It amazes me that there are individuals in our fanbase that actually want PK gone after all of the coaching instability we've had over the past decades. This defense has flaws, but they've improved massively since he's arrived. Definitely things to be improved, and I'm not completely sold on our secondary coaching, but wanting PK gone at this point is asinine imo. It's like we never learn.
  25. You know, that crossed my mind after I posted. Considering where mensa came from and all...
