I was hoping Philly would get him. Is this a full on rental or are they going to convince him to stay at 3B when Seager gets back? Or does Seager move to 3B like his brother?

What happens to Turner under either of those scenarios?

They were basically saying you couldn’t move the SS to the other side of the bag, or the 2B to the other side of the bag. Basically, you have to stay on your side of 2B. So you could obviously play with that to an extent.

I agree with HG, you would need a whole set of rules to enforce that type of rule.  For example, at what point can the SS dash over to the other side of second?  Would it be like volleyball and you have to say there until the ball is "served" which I guess would be analogous to the ball being pitched.  And if you violated the rule, what would the penalty be?  Ball on the batter?  Free base if someone is one base?

I was just poking around Baseball Reference and noticed something that I thought I'd pose as a trivia question to the folks on this thread.

Rocky Colavito retired after 1968 as the all time home run leader for players who appeared in fewer than 15 Major League seasons with 374 career homers. That mark stood until 2000. Since then, 4 players have passed his mark. Name them.

Active players who have less than 15 seasons don't count right?   It has to be someone who retired with less than 15 seasons?

  4. Great stuff Penelope.  Wife and I did much of the same in southern France a couple years ago.  Looks like you skipped Avignon but we stayed there, from where we hit Pont du Gard.  We're looking at southern Italy (and Sicily) for our next trip.  I was concerned that that it might not be different enough from southern France and northern Italy but your pics have answered that question.

April 2017 I was boarding a Lufthansa 747 from Newark to Frankfurt.   The line to board was super backed up but once I got to the entrance to the jet way I realized why.  10-12 plain clothes police were gathered in the little room by the entrance to the ramp pulling people one by one, reviewing passports and asking questions.   A dog was sniffing all passengers as they entered the ramp and then another dog was being walked up and down the ramp.  Was slightly unsettling

Same thing happened to me and the wife (no pics assholes) on our way back from Santiago to Houston last year.  My wife actually got pulled out for secondary screening.  Good thing she had taken all the coke out of her hoohah and I had shoved it up my ass ahead of time.*

*True story except for the coke part.

Not as crazy as Bill's... the wife texts me and asks how to work the safety on the revolver I keep in nightstand. I explain for the umpteenth time that there is no safety, you either cock the hammer first or simply pull the trigger. She says she pulled the trigger and nothing happened. Now I'm wondering what the hell she did(I left the gun loaded), where she was pointing it, and why she was pulling the trigger in the first place.

I told her to put the gun in the safe, and pray nothing bad happens until I get back to Houston. Her firearm privileges have been revoked.

You got a dead boyfriend in your bed.

  7. You are right about people filming them.  They'll never watch them.  Same people that think the Star Spangled Banner is a wonderful song.  It's not, it reminds you of days at the ballpark as a child, or watching your veteran father swell with pride and salute the flag, it's a memory trigger that brings along smiles and pride.  But the song itself blows.  I can prove it---not one person on this board has that song on their phones.  If it's such a great song, why don't you listen to it more often?
I do love fireworks though.  But not doing them myself.  Complete waste of money, but this morning the munchkin helped me hang our American flag outside the house properly.  Then I showed her my father's folded flag from the U.S. Navy.  Then we went to a small town parade and she waved little handheld flags.  And later, we're gonna watch professional fireworks show.
Trivial thing that makes me surly.  Our country is not called "America." God Blesses America, and I thank him for it.  But it ain't on any fucking map I've ever seen.  And I used to make maps.

I have the Jimi version on my phone.

5 hits for the Nats in last two games.

Sergio Romo strikes out Michael Taylor with bases loaded to preserve a 1-0 win, then immediately starts strutting towards the plate & jawing at the Wash bench over Taylor stealing 3rd with a 7-run lead earlier this season.

Tampa also played a P @ 1B in the 9th, box score is fun.

Yeah I watched that game.  Feeling like a genius for betting on the Rays.  The funniest thing is the pitcher/1B is a lefty and the whole point of keeping him in the game was to pitch to the lefties.  And he didn't get anyone out.

In my slacks and a couple of pairs of my shorts, there is a second really small pocket inside my normal right hand pocket. WTF is this for other than something that my car key will get stuck in when my hands a full?
