I believe that too, but without some donors stepping up to the plate to pay the buyout directly you also have a cash flow problem.  I'm not sure what the average market for UT tickets was in top 25 type season for barnes but let's play some math games...

Your new stadium is going to be 9000 seats.  If the average ticket spends $50 on admission and on merch/food and you have 17 home games a year give or take a game.  That's only $7.65mm a year.  That is selling out every game and that doesn't include the cost of anything or anyone in the arena.  I'm not an AD finance guy but even if you had a 20% profit margin then your entire season would effectively pay off 11% of the buyout.  So even projecting that forward it would be a 10 year investment to pay off Shaka.  That is a fucking load and would essentially make your basketball program a loser on the balance sheet for a decade.  In my opinion those conditions are pretty ideal too.  That also doesn't account for a new coach's salary.

I wasn't aware that basketball revenues are limited to ticket sales.

What do United and pre have to do with each other?

Nothing really.  Just making the point that with status on United I can go in the Premier Access line, which is almost as good as TSA Pre.  Line is shorter, but still gotta take off shoes and whatnot so a little more PITA than TSA Pre but not enough to warrant buying TSA Pre IMO.

  3. Well I hate to give away the "secret" but I've used the mobile passport app 3 times now at IAH, LAX and EWR and every time it's gotten me through waaaaaaay faster than the GE line.  2 out of the 3 times, there was NO ONE else in the line and the one time there was, at IAH, it was a flight crew of like 4-5 folks.  One of the pilots condescendingly asked if I had the app, to which, with as much return condescension as I could muster, replied "No problem bro."

Domestically I maintain at least the lowest level of status with United so TSA Pre doesn't really help and is certainly not worth it so I haven't applied for GE.

  4. So, it looks like this thread is the wrong place to ask, but can any of you x's and o's geniuses tell us what exactly we did in the first 3 quarters vs OU that held them down?  And why has no one else been able to do this, and why should we not expect to be able to do that again?

Not to state the obvious, but that's the key.  They haven't stopped anyone, they're not stopping us.  Conceivably we could stop ourselves but we haven't done that in a long time.

Or we can let the gay-ass slap fight continue.  Your choice, bitches.

It's weird. USC has fired a bevy of assistant coaches but it doesn't really feel like a true rebuild is happening. Helton is still there, Pendergast the DC is still there... Hiring Kliff would probably give USC worrying inroads into Texas recruiting but their roster isn't built for a transition to the Air Raid at all.

What does USC lack to run Air Raid?  A bunch of slow white guys?

Yep.   I see above someone mentioned his age.

IMO as with a number of professions, age doesn't matter.   In fact the college football world might benefit from the wisdom of the older folks.   I mean the Coach Bros (KK) can only take you so far.  Cool doesn't neccessarly translate to W's or long term success.

Agree on the age thing, especially on D.  Hell Wade Phillips gotta be like 136 by now.

Couldn’t you buy some simple cash businesses like food trucks or a landscaping service, claim way more income than they actually bring in, pay actual taxes on the inflated income, and then make actual deposits to your bank account? This would give you the ability to purchase certain things above the table, given that a lot of stuff is dependent on credit card payments. Keep the rest of the cash hidden away and use it when possible to pay for things like restaurant bills, gadgets, groceries, clothes, etc.

This is the classic money laundering setup.  Anytime I go into a restaurant that is "cash only" my first thought is what kind of money are they laundering?  Gambling house?  Drug dealer?
