  1. Mary didn’t proclaim this stuff about herself. It was written about her. Joe Smith claimed this shit happened to him, just 200 years ago. That is a massive difference. The Book of Mormon is laughable. From Wiki; the only thing missing from Smith’s gospel is ancient wormholes to transport Jews to the New World 2600 years ago: According to Joseph Smith, in 1823, when he was seventeen years old, an angel of God named Moroniappeared to him and said that a collection of ancient writings was buried in a nearby hill in present-day Wayne County, New York, engraved on golden plates by ancient prophets.[17][18] The writings were said to describe a people whom God had led from Jerusalem to the Western hemisphere 600 years before Jesus's birth.[14] Smith said this vision occurred on the evening of September 21, 1823, and that on the following day, via divine guidance, he located the burial location of the plates on this hill and was instructed by Moroni to meet him at the same hill on September 22 of the following year to receive further instructions, which repeated annually for the next three years.[19][20]Smith told his entire immediate family about this angelic encounter by the next night, and his brother William reported that the family "believed all he [Joseph Smith] said" about the angel and plates.
  2. Should’ve been formed 125 years before they were and they could have. It is really hard for me to determine which group has the nuttier origin story and early practices. People will emphatically say Scientology and I probably would agree. But a lot of that is based on the fact that mainstream Mormons (not FLDS) over the last 50 years or so have become a largely high-functioning and successful part of society and are genuinely good people. Their early history and the nuttiness of Joe Smith and Brigham Young is totally whitewashed. But LRH is still probably crazier.
  3. That always works. For the 5 minutes you’re fucking her. 10 minutes for me.
  4. I guess if you would also consider Scientology the quintessential American story too. Both are outrageous cults and it’s unfathomable that either of them took hold in the last few centuries.
  5. She would get it. She would get it big time.
  6. No idea what he’s talking about. He’s a loon that has me confused with someone else. I have him on ignore but had had a few pops and read / responded for sport.
  7. Lively and Reynolds are extremely powerful. Whatever. I don’t really care. I strongly suspect she’s a talentless cunt.
  8. He’s an actor also. If not for her husband, I’d say they’re equally known. I tend to buy his story over hers. She sounds like a real piece of work.
  9. Shut the fuck up, Ana. If I want your weirdo opinion I’ll ask.
  10. Disagree. They would’ve lost significantly more support if they’d gone full Fantana. I think they both played Israel about as well as they could have. This isn’t why Trump won. Inflation was the biggest reason by far. Followed by immigration and a rejection of leftism. I’m not sure Biden’s Israel stance was a factor at all.
  11. I’m at a loss. Sure, there is some stupidity in those that dislike him. He wasn’t an awful President. But he wasn’t good, at all, and he’s been reduced to a bumbling buffoon who has no business governing in his current state, much less even on the air. He was the worst candidate the Democrats have run, ever (2024). The majority of reasons people dislike him are not stupid.
  12. Is the SportsDay app fucked up?
  13. Well a lot here have no issue escaping from reality. Just because Trump is awful doesn’t mean Biden isn’t deserving of disapproval. I mean that’s a ridic statement.
  14. I’m guessing good finale?
  15. Thank you brotha. I presumed weather related but wasn’t sure because of the sharp midday increase. I’ll take it.
  16. What’s up with NG today?
  17. I don’t. I turned 35 and have hated it since then.
  18. Holy shit. Yeah, he is close to it. I knew the massacre occurred over a several-day siege period. I thought the Missouri landscape was funny, and the travel sequences were odd to say the least. It’s still not Texas Rising bad or even close to it.
  19. If you haven’t, read up on Mountain Meadows Massacre. That scene was….awesome. But yeah, there seems to be some gratuitous violence and gore, but it was a pretty harsh environment. That massacre is an absolute unbelievable moment in our history.
  20. Do you like being hung over and cockteased for 48 hours?
  21. Is there any truth to McCarthy walking away when Jones tried to force Witten into his world as his heir apparent? If so, good for Mike.
  22. Agreed. Now apply this to Johntay Cook, whose 20-yo immaturity has probably ruined his career forever.
  23. ¡Imposible! It’s crazy we haven’t closed at above $4 in the last month. We’ve crossed it intraday crossed it several times.
