  1. I met Ian at the bronco bowl in Dallas one year. A buddy of mine was friends with the Cult's manager and we went to see them. I must say it was a most excellent show. I also had tickets to see the Holy Barbarians but ended working late and couldn't go. I was thoroughly pissed.
  2. Ok I know I'm about to get stoned but here goes. I received my Marie Sharp's Smokin' Marie today and I have already tried it on a few things. First I will say the smokey flavor and heat are spot on, but damn is it salty! I normally do not use salt on food so I may be a little more sensitive to it, but 410mg of sodium is a fuck-ton of salt. By comparison Secret Aardvark has only 35mg sodium. I jumped on their website and noticed the Marie Sharp's original only has 105mg, so I will be ordering this one and giving it a try. I will polish off the smokey bottle, but it will probably be the last of that flavor I try. "Would you like a little sauce with your salt sir?" Nope, I'll just eat my salt straight thank you.
  3. This sounds awesome actually. I love savory more than sweet. Unfortunately this is why I end up skipping breakfast so often. I will definitely be giving this one a try. Thanks for posting this one!
  4. Touche dude! I know this is not a cover, but everyone should watch this. This is a sound check in 1986 back when he was still using cocaine and drinking heavy. He looks lit in this video, but his playing is so accurate & pure it's like your listening to his album. Probably no other artist I miss more than SRV.
  5. Lol. I'd probably have more of a favorable view of the fruit if that were the case, but sadly that was not the case. How common is the inconsistency from batch to batch? And are we talking only a subtle change in flavor notes and carbonation? Also I was curious what you guys consider to be reasonable age to the beer your buying? I may have to give Yellow rose another try.
  6. They are both legends, but Hendrix killed it on his cover of Dylan's song.
  7. I've been wanting to grab something lightweight before I start planning big trips with a backpack. After reading reviews and talking to others the 3 shoes I am leaning towards are the Lone Peak Altras, Brooks Cascadia, and the La Sportiva Bushido. I definitely need to hit the local trails to get the legs stretched out and I figure the lighter shoes for now would do the trick.
  8. Glad I stumbled onto this thread. Currently I do not hike or camp regularly but now that I'm in my mid-40's I am starting to get that itch again and have done a few small trips. I've never done any extensive hiking like JMT (bucket list) or anything like that, but I really want to get back into hiking & camping. I recently was speaking with a banker and the subject came up. He said he goes solo hiking all the time and exchanged several stories. He mentioned this was one of his favorite places to go hiking. Unfortunately most of my buddies have little time or interest in hiking so I may have to venture out on my own. I have always been in pretty good shape, but I probably couldn't make a 3 day hike up a mountain with a backpack this early in the game. Anyways, any advice or places you guys can recommend for a beginner would be great.
  9. I'm going to have to second this comment. I recently tried this one (Yellow Rose) based off comments here and honestly I am a little surprised at how many of you like grapefruit. It wasn't bad mind you, but the grapefruit flavor is a little overpowering for me. I also tried Saison Dupont and it was pretty good. It's not something I would drink all the time but I bet it would be great come this summer when its hot.
  10. Since we're talking about all these hot sauce varieties, what is everyone's favorite food to pair with your hot sauce of choice? I think we all know the more common things like eggs, burritos, oysters, etc. But I would be curious if there is something kinda different that you think pairs well with. I went to Babe's with a cousin one time and he recommended I cover my fried chicken with hot sauce. I had never heard of that but it was excellent. (Can't remember what the hot sauce was). Not that it is uncommon, but I always thought hot sauce complimented pulled pork tacos perfectly. Anyways, let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance, I'll hang up now and listen.
  11. Ok thanks Cooter. I just ordered Smokin’ Marie >>>> Special Edition Habanero & some Chimay as well. Should be interesting to see how they compare. I doubt I will stop using the Aardvark sauce, but hopefully I like one of these two as well. It's funny a grown man getting excited over a condiment. I'll let you guys know next week what I think of these two.
  12. Alright so it looks like there is quit a few that likes the Marie Sharp's. On their website they show 13 different flavors. What's the best one, the Smokin’ Marie (Special Edition)? The Smoked Habanero (Special Edition) sounds awesome. I may have to get a bottle of the Chimay and try it out as well.
  13. Never seen that photo. I miss that dude.
  14. I am not a big into over-powering heat or spice just for the sake of it, but I do enjoy a little hot sauce added here and there. Especially to say a burrito, beans, chili, cabbage, or jambalaya. My go to sauce has always been Tabasco or Huy Fong Sriracha, but a few years back on a visit to Portland I noticed a lot of the places I was eating at had a sauce on the table I had never heard of. It is now my favorite hot sauce, Secret Aardvark or as they called it "Aardvark Sauce". If you have never tried it I highly recommend it. It is a habanero sauce and has some heat, but it is not overpowering. And damn is it good. So with that I am interested in any suggestions on any other hot sauces or spices my brothers think are worthy for the kitchen. And not that I condone alcohol or drug use, but if you happen to have consumed either prior and listening to the Rolling Stones "She's A Rainbow" while trying Aardvark Sauce for the first time, I can personally guarantee you will be hooked. (Yes it has to be this specific song, it just works.)

    Pink Floyd

Dave did an incredible job on Fat Old Sun. I think his older voice is more suited to the song now than when it was recorded. An interesting note, Gilmour & Wright were the only two musicians on this Floyd song. Written by Gilmour he played bass, drums and guitar, while Rick contributed on organs.
  17. Lol. Suddenly the smile disappears.
  18. Small story on Van Morrison. I am in real estate and I was speaking with a lawyer that lived across the street of one of our foreclosure properties we were listing. We were chatting one day in the street and the lawyer happen to mention that the house across the street was owned by Van Morrison. He said that Van Morrison bought the home for his lover, but recently he had sold the home due to her untimely death. I thought it was odd that Van Morrison had a home in North Richland Hills, Texas. But a little research concluded that it appears the story was true. His lover's name was GiGi Lee.
