  1. My top five for different reasons. 1. Pink Floyd/Division Bell - Best music, best show. Period. 2. Dire Straits/On Every Street - Mark Knopfler is the best guitarist alive. Amazing music. 3. The Eagles/Hell Freezes Over - Music was awesome. Nostalgia overload. 4. Beastie Boys/Hello Nasty - Great music and great show. Entertaining as hell. 5. Porno For Pyros/Porno For Pyros - Funnest show I've ever been to. Perry was in peak form and all the strippers were pure eye candy.
  2. Great group to listen to while "relaxing".
  3. 1984. I had just turned 13 and I loved Van Halen. So my brother and I were going. Interestingly due to the huge demand, the Jackson 5 had a lottery system advertised in the newspaper to get tickets. I guess you mailed in a request from some cut out in the paper and if you were lucky they would allow you to buy tickets(limit 4). My mom had a friend that won some but ended up having to leave town for work and would not be able to go. So they offered my mom 2 tickets for free if she would take their two daughters. So the four of us went. It was a good show even though I knew none of the music. Until Eddie Van Halen came out on stage and played Beat It with the Jackson 5. Interestingly I had no idea till now, but I found the below written on the show and it looks like it was one of the only times they played the song together live. http://www.jack969.com/2017/07/14/eddie-van-halen-jacksons-beat-it/ Two nights later I got the honor of watching David Lee Roth stumble around stage with a bottle of Jack Daniels. Throughout the night he was screwing songs up and during "Jump" he did his famous jump/splits and almost fell into the first row. Eddie was in his prime though. His guitar solo was off the charts. Good times.

    Pink Floyd

I have seen pink Floyd five times and Roger Waters once. Roger was during his Radio KAOS tour. Pink Floyd is one of the few groups I have seen that can replicate their studio sound almost to perfection. There were times if not for the audience, you'd swear you were just listing to the album. Truly gifted at their craft. The first time I saw them I was 16. I can remember I was sitting next to this large group of biker dudes that had me a little intimidated. At one point in the show, a few joints were being passed down the row and this dude next to me that looked like Billy Gibbons nudged me on the shoulder and handed me a joint. At that time I had never smoked so I just passed it on to my buddy and on down the line. I think Billy could tell I was a little out of my element. He smiled and said something to me along the lines of "Good for you man, I don't smoke the stuff either". From then on Billy and I exchanging pleasantries between songs and after the show was over I remember he shook my hand and something like "keep rocking dude". The fourth show was the best concert I believe I have ever seen. It was at Texas Stadium before they tore it down. We were sitting about midway on the floor which positioned us right under the hole in the roof. Some time during the show it started to lightly rain and the lasers would seem to bounce off the rain drops. They had this one blue laser that went across in a flat line and then slowly went up and down like a wave. With all the rain glittering through the laser it looked like ocean waves crashing. We sat there under the ocean looking up in rain, watching the waves crash over the top of us. I bet I've seen close to 40-50 shows in my life and that night was the best night I can remember. Good times.
  5. Q: What do you get when you breed a ground hog and a Texas a&m football player? A: Six more weeks of bad football.
  6. In the boxing photo he looks like he wants to punch the guy he is shaking hands with. Also the photo with Tom Landry is really cool. Thanks for sharing, he sounds like he was an incredible person. Sorry for you and your family's loss.
  7. Watching Texas the last few years has been an emotional rollercoaster. Lets see if they can win the orange-white game first.
  8. Alright so I was at my cousin's place earlier and I had a Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. It wasn't bad, but it seemed to get bitter the warmer it got though. Anyone familiar with this one?
  9. Nice job dude. If you end up really doing a weekly segment on the show, let us know.

    High

Pairs well with a bottle of wine. Me thinks.
  11. Gracias! I will add this one to the list and see if I can find it.
  12. Is this something I can go pick up a the store or do I need to find it on tap somewhere?
  13. Thinking about grabbing something new tomorrow to stretch my horizon a little. Any suggestions? I saw someone earlier mention The Abyss. Looked it up. ABV: 11.90% Wow.
  14. Sounds fair enough. I'm a big fan of supporting the mom & pop's of the world over any corporation for sure. Quick story about Revolver's new owner. My cousin is an electrician and had to do some work at the Miller plant in south Fort Worth a few years back. He said he would never drink a Miller product again after seeing some of the things he saw while working there. He said it was one of the most filthy and poor conditions he had ever seen for a factory. So there you go. Think about that the next time your enjoying that Lite beer.
  15. Ultimate cheeseburger with no sauce, 2 tacos, and 3 piece egg roll with a side of ranch. Drunken binge eating. Oh yeah.
  16. I wouldn't pay for a 6 pack of Keystone, but if I'm at a cookout this summer and the ice chest is full of Pepsi and stones? I'll gladly cool off with the beer. I'm beyond trying to impress a click in society. But it is pleasing to try all the variations of the beverage and I am always open to new recommendations.

    Wine

Is this one dry? I normally don't drink fruity, but it might be refreshing come summertime. I'll make a note to get a bottle for that first hot summer night on the back patio.

    Wine

The layers of knowledge behind can be a little daunting. Hell I just bought a Vinturi a few months back and was surprised at the difference it makes. Which I am guessing in some circles it is frowned upon to use this device.
  19. I brought up this beer previously, but I don't believe it is well liked here.

    Wine

Wonder if it had anything to do with the specific brands I was drinking? Honestly I've always bought on the cheaper side until my taste matures enough to settle into something worthy.
  21. I will give them a try. Thanks.
