  1. what is coach O and sark's connection? if he's not a boozer (too much) then bring him on. he seems to like the Jimmy Buffett live though, cajun style of course.
  2. Those kinda memories are awesome.
  3. He’d make one helluva Ron McKelvey. Pretty sure his joints can’t handle the contact tho.
  4. This is good perspective. What I really wanted was Bama to suck for a decade more than anything else.
  5. ain't nothing if you make sure your pee is clear and you've had your orange slices at halftime and look forward to that warm cookie after the game. let's go kids!!!
  6. steak dinner - always good for that. I'm hopeful Sark steps it up a notch. He can ball. but he's got another level to find. Dillon's injury was a much bigger factor in Texas' chance. that was third down. The plan was 15 seconds remaining when they punted on 4th. it was a bit of a freak accident. We all wanted bama to suck for a decade. not gonna happen. fine. let's go. I think we are in fine position for the next few years, I do think Bama, Goergia and Texas are tops in the SEC for the next 3-4 years.
  7. I'm stone cold sober this month, probably my issue. I'd love Bama to suck and Texas to roll in (no pun intend) and dominate. DeBoer had great talent but not across the board and he's only lost 3 games as a P5 coach in two years and won 3 titles the last time he was a HC, albeit NAIA. I do think he's going to be one of the best in the business. In that Saban interview he said that rebuilding a program and maintaining a winning are two totally different things. Nothing to prove in the second one, and it's harder to learn when you've been winning. I hope Sark keeps learning, I hope losing that need to prove to people isn't the core of his motivation. Saban preached playing to a standard every week, for 15+ years he fucking did that. If Sark is like that, wants to be the best he and his players can be for that reason alone and he learns even when he wins, then we will be fine.
  8. Bama + coach em up + win + good assistants, yeah he can recruit the south. I think the reality though is unless you want to teach/coach kids and young men, then the NFL is a much easier gig now when comparing coaching football in one league versus the other.
  9. if they go from a great to another great that's just fucked up. we go Mack and shit the bed not once but twice before Sark. and then before that DKR to Mack, not even gonna go there.
  10. I'm hopeful he can take that next step. if he can, next year could be magical. I'm hopeful he's gonna dig deep. Junior year national title run (expected from day 1) into the NFL is a lot more work than last year in high school through sophomore in college. You never know, but man he does make that next step and fucking a we might have ourselves another title.
  11. I ain't terrified of anyone. I'd just prefer Bama to suck for a while. and quite frankly for on the field results I'd rather have DeBoer than Sark. there I said it.
  12. DeBoer is a MAJOR issue for the SEC if he takes that job. and if he does, Texas AD, President's office and the BOR need to hire Bama folks as consultants on our next hires. that's one GOAT to what may be the next. Sweet fucking Jesus say it isn't so. I want DeBoer at WA or at a Big 10 school. Fuck that, I want him in the NFL where I don't have to worry one single day about him. That fucker can coach.
  13. it really was. he didn't talk any shadow stuff, but most with any interest in college football don't. that said, when he writes his book, it will be a great one. his knowledge and passion for teaching and creating value as he called it is unparalleled in any industry, not just sports.
  14. Lock thread: Tier 1: Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame Tier 2: OU, LSU, Tennesee, Florida, Oregon, Florida State, Miami Tier 3: Auburn, A&M, Washington, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Clemson Tier 4: North Carolina, Colorado, BYU, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Utah, Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, Ole Miss, UCLA, Iowa Tier 5: Nebraska, Purdue, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Cincinnati, Houston, Kansas, TCU, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech Tier 6: Kentucky, Vandy, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern, Rutgers, Boston College, Cal, Duke, NC State, Pitt, Stanford, SMU, Syracuse, Virginia, Wake Forest, Oregon State, Washington State, UCF
  15. I agree with you. A&M is number one for pay. that buyout clause was fucking amazing. for brand, history A&M is a 1 on a mandatory scale of 1-5. Yes they get talked about a lot but their brand is complete garbage from male cheerleaders, to killing people in the name of spirit, to their ROTC program, to their repressed gay hazing, to LOSING, to all of it. Now, if we are talking notoriety on a mandatory scale of 1-5, they get a 5. don't confuse awareness with brand value. The only reason A&M is in the conversation is because of their size as the second state school in Texas, how much they pay, and their notoriety. NONE of that other than pay says top 5. Shit, I'm not sure they are top 10. It's a graveyard or retirement job. you can't win, and you tumble down when you don't. but at least you can sit on the beach and earn 20%.
  16. btw any cruise on a ship that's less than 200 passengers is big time. those are the only kinds of cruises we take. and commanding the entire ship? damn. that's a price tag.
  17. my only problem is the sweater over the back and tied around the neck. that's terrible fashion. Other than that, I suspect he's a great guy, I'd party with him over most of you fat straight fucks. of course, I'm making the strong assumption he's gay.
  18. that's usually the first argument. we have no business buying a second place right now, we are still finishing up the landscaping on our current house - a bit of a reach honestly. but once we settle in, we want both. we want a place for the summers to fish, hike, bike, play tennis without dying and we want to travel. so if we are so lucky we are going to buy some acreage and build a modest home on it and spend mid-June through mid-October there. then probably travel mostly in January through March.
