  1. The term enshittification is itself an example of enshittification. The English language is morphing into an extremely dumbed down version of German. Every social concept has to have a crass, single word label, because nuance is not rewarded by anything. And no, I don't have a clever label for what you are talking about. It's just the evolution of capitalism. The Panera Breadification of it.
  2. Gundy is smart. He said this drive we give it to our best player to win. It's 80.
  3. Gordon is such a bitch. Who could stand to play with that guy?
  4. For a beanpole he's got a decent arm. He throws a lot of ducks though.
  5. The girl in the coffee shop commercial is Great Value Rosamund Pike.
  6. The story is compelling and the acting is as good as it can be with the script they were given The writing isn't very good imo. I am not a car freak but I enjoyed the racing scenes and learning a little about the history of the company. It left me wanting to know more about how he built the company and the early design and build choices that defined their cars. Also it almost goes without saying that Penelope Cruz is a force of nature and is alone worth seeing the movie for.
  7. I told Air Force recruiter I was considering Navy and he advised me to avoid picking up the soap
  8. Wilder was the consummate Wonka because he can convey a sense of wonder and mystery with just a look. Neither of the other two can do that.
  9. Sometimes things need a refresh. Try deleting everything and starting over.
  10. That moron actually thought any of those purchased players went there for a school ring? Wow
  11. I knew it was a bad idea dragging my grandson to Oppenheimer
  12. He was really good but I am almost in awe of Carey Mulligan every time I see her. She is so good I now seek out her stuff. I will say the way the dialogue talked around and in some ways tried to excuse his infidelity annoyed me. You're either faithful or you aren't and it's ok to acknowledge that reality on its own, aside from any allowance for someone's conflicted sexuality. Also, this movie will be more enjoyable the better your sound system. And it's shot very thoughtfully and beautifully.
  13. I watched the first couple because the wife is a huge CG fan. Frankly, after they passed the childhood scenes I found the stuff about Dyan Cannon less interesting so I stopped watching. I really enjoyed the short scenes with him doing impromptu monologues with an audience and found myself wanting more of that and less of him being a real person. But they were just used as a plot device.
  14. I took a shot with Silk and really liked it. The lead is a great actress. I also liked Ballykissangel (first three season only). Loved the gal who played the friend of the leading lady and also the guy who played the town Scrooge. Wanted to see something more by the ballykissangel lead so I watched DCI Banks. It's pretty good, but probably a cut below the best British drama. Good enough to watch the whole series.
  15. It's at best tolerable if you aren't a musicals fan. I sat through it with my wife, who is. Seemed like it would be more appealing to kids 8-12. Would have been more entertaining for me if it was 80% Hugh Grant instead of 20% since the talent factor goes way up whenever he appears.
  16. Eh, there's a pecking order. There are cruises for everyone, including the snobbiest people in your triangle area.
  17. Same, perfect scenario. I have a feeling he's going to be one of the better Duke QB's in recent memory, if not the best. Who is going to be his OC? He obviously needs a system designed for a pocket passer with limited mobility.
