This guy is one of the most intriguing characters that’s been in and out of intelligence agencies and the Trump administration.  Seriously, try digging up info on this guy, he’s like a ghost.  There’s only one photo of him in existence on the internet.

He was one of Michael Flynn’s guys that McMaster tried to fire but couldn’t because of Kushner and Bannon.  He also has ties to Oracle.

A senior intelligence official who previously served on the National Security Council (NSC) has rejoined the Trump administration as an adviser in the Department of Justice.

A Justice Department spokesman confirmed that Ezra Cohen-Watnick, who left the NSC in August, had joined the department. He will reportedly serve as an adviser to Attorney General Jeff Sessions on counterintelligence and counterterrorism.

Cohen-Watnick was brought on to the NSC early in the Trump administration by Michael Flynn, President Trump's first national security adviser who was ousted after just a few weeks.

In his White House role, Cohen-Watnick oversaw covert action and other intelligence programs.

The New York Times reported that Cohen-Watnick holds harsher views on China and Russia and believes the intelligence community should be more aggressive toward both countries.

The NSC aide left the Trump administration in August as part of a string of changes under Flynn's replacement, H.R. McMaster.

McMaster has since also left the administration after leading the NSC for more than a year. He has been replaced in that role by John Bolton, who officially took over Monday.

Srsly WTF.  You have to bury the head separately from the body to kill these fuckers.

Cohen-Watnick is one of the WH cadre that moled his way into highly classified information that wound up in the hands of Devin Nunes for that wiretapping stunt last Spring presenting info to the WH that was derived from the WH.

2 White House Officials Helped Give Nunes Intelligence Reports

Quote

Mr. Cohen-Watnick, 30, is a former Defense Intelligence Agency official who served on the Trump transition team and was originally brought to the White House by Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser.

He was nearly pushed out of his job this month by Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, who replaced Mr. Flynn as national security adviser, but survived after the intervention of Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, and Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s chief strategist.

The officials who detailed the newly disclosed White House role said that this month, shortly after Mr. Trump claimed on Twitter that he was wiretapped during the campaign on the orders of President Barack Obama, Mr. Cohen-Watnick began reviewing highly classified reports detailing the intercepted communications of foreign officials.

There were conflicting accounts of what prompted Mr. Cohen-Watnick to dig into the intelligence. One official with direct knowledge of the events said Mr. Cohen-Watnick began combing through intelligence reports this month in an effort to find evidence that would justify Mr. Trump’s Twitter posts about wiretapping.

But another person who was briefed on the events said Mr. Cohen-Watnick came upon the information as he was reviewing how widely intelligence reports on intercepts were shared within the American spy agencies. He then alerted the N.S.C. general counsel, but the official said Mr. Cohen-Watnick was not the person who showed the reports to Mr. Nunes.

That person and a third official said it was then Mr. Ellis who allowed Mr. Nunes to view the material.

Man, I don't care how smart or well-educated you are, a 30 year old hasn't lived long enough to have significant responsibility for Intel or national security.

In general, yes, I agree with you.

I've also lost some ability to trust or put faith into the older generation leading some government circles.  Their ineptitude is beyond comprehension when it comes to technology.

So Trump (cough Jared) specifically ordered Sessions to hire Ezra Cohen-Watnick back as a DOJ National Security advisor.

The Dems are watching him like a hawk:

“Given Mr. Cohen-Watnick’s reported role in helping Congressman Nunes turn the House Intelligence Committee investigation into a partisan breeding ground for conspiracy theories, his new position with the Attorney General at such a sensitive time is deeply troubling,” Matt House, a spokesman for Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, said in a statement. “Mr. Cohen-Watnick must not come anywhere near the Mueller investigation, and Democrats will watch like a hawk to ensure that’s the case.”
