There is a lot of movement right now with the new roster limits; lots of cuts, transfers, etc.  It's a tough, transitional summer for a lot of college track athletes.

That's true for all the non revenue sports. Swim and Dive, T&,F, Tennis, etc.

Something happened with NIL based on our recruiting and transfer classes. Somebody received the message the results werent good enough this past season. The Letsrun track forum is already talking about how the men's team will be a major factor next year based on all the additions.

The new throws coach is already having an impact. Giovanna Meeks transferred to Texas. Finished 5th in the hammer at the outdoor championships. She could finish 1st or 2nd next year because 3 were seniors that finished above her.

The womens team has a lot of potential next year.

I see one “big name” to Texas on that page and a lot of names leaving Texas

No big names have left the mens team. Only 1 on the womens team.  Other than that its all fodder thats transferred. The mens team finished 31st at the outdoor championships for a reason. The talent wasnt very good. Texas did what they needed to do which was upgrade and shed roster fat.

On the mens side there are only a couple of athletes worth mentioning as big names.

I know he has signed a lot of Europeans to come in on the men’s side. Some of them have elite times. He also just signed a kid from Jamaica that ran a 13.11 in the 110 hurdles which I think was their U18 record. Think he also runs a 10.34 100, which would probably help the 4x100.

The men and women have top recruiting classes. Women probably the top class and men top 5. Something changed with NIL.

Flo's approach on the mens side is to grab all these "older" Europeans in the 20 to 24 range.

Saino ran a 48.61 in the 400MH last week at the U23 EU championships.

I was at a track get together with several parents of current college athletes.  To a person, all of them mentioned coaches telling them the recruiting priorities in order are: International, portal, HS athletes in top 10-15 nationally.

The trimming of rosters is mandatory with the new roster limits. Recruiting for HS track will look a lot like baseball, with lower level schools being the “minors.”  Many also think you will see an increase in injuries with smaller rosters and asking more of certain athletes to double or triple up in events.
