Posted (edited)

from the thermal club

today there will be two 10 lap or 20 minute heats with starting order determined by yesterday's qualifying.  fast 6 from each will go into the main race, with pole between the two heat winners determined by fastest of yesterday's qualifying time.

palou is too good.  seeing how far herta could get after basically idling around the track for the first half of the final was about the only drama after dixon and grosjean got into a mess in the first corner in the first heat.

this track is all big fast corners and any car that relies on over body aero is going to do what every other track of big fast corners does - keep the cars a second apart.  would be interesting to see some GTP/hypercars out there as they're not so reliant on over body aero.

“The statement that Cindric put out is a bold-faced lie, and everyone knows that,” said one team owner, who was granted anonymity in order to speak freely on the subject. “For teams to read that, it’s, ‘Are you kidding me?’

“This is bad, because it’s bad for all of us,” one team representative said. “But that statement? That’s telling everybody, ‘You’re a bunch of idiots.’”

A lot of people probably aren’t aware that Roger also owns Ilmor Engineering, which actually makes the Chevy-branded Indycar engine.
