Waiting on final engineer’s report but sounds like we may have to completely tear down and rebuild the front wall (that faces the explosion) and roof. Now we’re waiting on USAA to finalize their payout (which looks like it will be WAY too low) before we move to arbitration. They significantly underestimate how much construction costs in Austin right now.

I bet a majority of homes in Austin are underinsured.One of my law partners lives nearby and she and her neighbors are going through this, though not quite at your level.
1 hour ago1 hr Man I feel for you.I have a friend who lives around the corner from y'all, and they're going through similar. They've spent all this time working with the engineers and adjusters and everything else to determine the extent of the necessary repairs, and they're about to vacate their house for however many months it takes to tear it apart and rebuild it. The explosion moved the entire facing wall several inches off its spot on the foundation.
