glad someone else mentioned this. She spends paragraphs thanking Jesus and God but I haven’t seen anything from her thanking the doctors and nurses who are, literally, saving his life. (If she has, I retract this statement, somewhat.)

It's fine. Whatever gets them through it. I know how stressful and upseting this situation can be. I am sure when speaking to the doctors she is being gracious.

As far as Ship being MAGA...well I didn't need to know that. I can only hope he fully recovers and some day sees the error of his ways if that is the case.

  • The “shut up and play sports” crowd is awfully quiet when athletes are jerking off Orange Man.

Man, I wrestle with this. It sucks but I remind myself that this is what they want, to shrink America and all of public life down into MAGA or not and to make the “not” section small and sad. MAGA wan

Lots of openly queer nurses in that ICU, esp on night shift. Shipley will be there for quite a while most likely, and they'll share a really unique form of intimacy and vulnerability with him that absolutely has the possibility to change hearts and minds. I experienced it myself

I like it. I also like when Mario Cristobal or Carson Beck or Trinidad Chambliss talk about God and Jesus as the first thing they do after they win, before talking about the X's and O's.

I just like to point out that they must have prayed hard enough for the other team to be cursed. Can weird people out, but you ask them why God favored one team over another.

Kinda odd for them to assume the supreme being is that self-centered. And obviously only picks winners based on who "thanks" the hardest. As if every losing team in America has no believers. Pretty sure the God i believe in is above a hollow ego-trip, but that's just me....

Are you a sports superstar making millions? If not, maybe you're not praying hard enough.

just sayin GIF

The real answer is that a lot of these athletes don't believe in any of the shit they spout after a game, it's just whatever their agent told them to say. When you praise Jesus for a win with the cameras in your face, and 2 hours later you're doing cocaine off of a call girl's ass and an hour later trying to figure out what to do with a dead hooker, you're probably not all that big into the whole religion thing.

Why are you guys bent out of shape about this? If anything the God squads on football teams are much less obnoxious than they were decades ago.

Yeah I don't know for sure what any of these guys really believe but a lot of it is just something to say. That fucking sex creep coach at Michigan also said lots of God stuff. Just like people say thoughts and prayers when in fact not many of them are actually kneeling and praying about whatever it is they are saying they are praying for. It is just something you say.
