Didn’t want to cloak up the movie board so this thread is going here.

I just watched this film with the director’s commentary and holy fuck what a prophetic movie.  So many contemporary political issues addressed.

Reality TV before reality TV

The infotainmenting of the news

Foreign influence via money in democracy preventing Americans to determine their own destiny.

Generations being raised by television leading to the dehumanization of the individual.

The director explains that the movie is essentially about corruption and how everyone eventually becomes corrupted in the movie except Faye Dunaway’s character because she is just naturally that way.

The director also explains Howard Beale isn’t the main character, it’s Faye Dunaway’s.

Would recommend.
