  1. Sure, but can you imagine Admiral Ackbar patrolling the Ole Miss sideline in his swivel chair shouting, Watch the fumblerooskey...IT'S A TRAP!!!"? That's gold!
  2. Their paths intersected when Walter Scott turned 100 and Willard celebrated his birthday with the gift of a jar of Smuckers jelly.
  3. Ahem, Iowa City and CEDAR RAPIDS CORRIDOR. (shout out to my homies in Coralville, what up C-VILLE!?!)
  4. What was wrong with Admiral Akbar?
  5. If we never played UNI and their douchebag purple hawkeye fans again it'd be too soon for me. I'd put NDSU back on the schedule in their place for sure.
  6. The big ten had the good sense to stop it after they beat Iowa.
  7. My point is that it seems now that if UM goes it won't be because tOSU "had to" fire him but rather that they "wanted to" fire him. So, why would they want to fire him? Only if some BMDs want it. I'm not saying they do or don't.
  8. You're right but BuckeyeNationCargoShorts isn't raising $1 Billion for tOSU. I don't think it's about legal cover for tOSU now. It seem like they can "get away" with keeping UM. More importantly is whether the B-BMDs want Urb around. Somebody like Wexner could say, "Look, get rid of UM and we'll just throw a bunch of money at another top flight coach". tOSU does have a history of bouncing back pretty well after coach firings.
  9. Who's the top replacement target?...asking for a friend...
  10. Big 12 Not Dead not going away.
  11. Yeah, I think CU has a huge alumni base in California so them in the PAC has always made perfect sense. I wish ISU had a little more scheduling freedom. Would love series with Wazzu and OSU (and UDub & UO for that matter).
  12. You need to get a feel for the room bro. Also, fuck chip brown.
  13. I'd say a majority of us figure Matt will be the next tOSU coach. Him taking the position before the end of the GoR would be quintessential ISU fan kick to the nuts... So yeah, watching and waiting for it.
  14. I love their school colors and sexy sweater babes. O.J. Simpson played football there and cut some peoples heads off. All I got.
  15. Fair enough, but I'm sure you can think of a blue blood whose had a steep but short lived decline and bounced back. Notre Dame's had a couple of those.
  16. First, I don't see any ISU fans saying Nebraska isn't a blue blood in this thread so fuck you. Second, take the ISU victories off UNLs wins total and compare them to UT. Now take the KSU wins off and see what it looks like. Typical Nebraska douchebag, uses wins against big 8 tomato cans to puff up profile then talks shit about them. Third, the discussion of "bluebloodedness" is as much or more about elasticity or memory of a program over time as it is about win totals. Blue blooded programs have bad patches (HC hires) but can be counted upon to rectify those errors, make the required changes and win national championships or high major bowls in a relatively short period of time. It's the blue bloods whose sine wave is either the flattest (tOSUs is pretty flat - that is, steady) or the tightest (FSU had a dip early on with Jimbo and then won a championship). If Nebraska is a blue blood we'll find out with Frost. As I've already stated here somewhere, Frost will have the ability to raise money at UNL like no other coach before him. He's a physical bridge from the Osborne era to now. IMO UNL will be competing for the B1G West very soon, like next season soon and Frost will have them in the B1G Championship often.
  17. Our receptionist has one of these that's a globe. Fair warning, I've never seen it actually work. Just sits there stuck to the magnet above.
  18. Agree with the bolded but I think the banality of it will only sink in after every P5 team has fucked around with it. And now that it's finally reached the far reaches of the P5 (us) it'll fizzle out. I don't think it'll ever be "jumping the shark" with UO due to the relationship with Phil Knight & Nike. They could be uniform guinea pigs forever and no one will think it strange or lame, just that it's UO's "thing". I'm a casual UO fan and have family (UO grads) in Portland and they still dig it. Even after the Ducks dressed as actual ducks vs. Nebraska two years ago in Lincoln.
  19. As stated above; all black is played...and it always sucked. I don't get why we can't embrace the mustard yellow. No one does it but The Packers and LSU presumably because it's, you know, ugly. But at least it'd be ours.
  20. ISU won't be on the football schedule. We're tethered to Iowa and there won't be any ISU schedules with two B1G teams on it for the foreseeable future. If you're referring to basketball; that doesn't move the needle for UNL fans at all. Universities don't leave the big ten. UNL is home now. They're the dumbest child who occasionally gets a pat on the head for doing a good job at that one thing.
  21. Yeah, "Tell me about Iowa State" can be summed up with three words...Athletic Director ineptitude, historically. But I do think Pollard is doing a great job now. And Gene Smith obviously moved out and up.
  22. When tOSU hired Earle Bruce away from ISU (thanks Woody) we had a chance to hire Cooper who (having been a former ISU player) wanted the ISU job. So our idiot AD hired Donnie Duncan who did nothing but squander Bruce's outstanding roster and set into motion fifteen straight losses to Iowa. I think Cooper would've thrived at ISU and become our Hayden Fry or Bill Snyder
  23. I got you bro. Gonna swing by OP, pick up some Cyclone homeboys and zip over to Larry for the game.
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this a situation where ESPN early picked and then LHN selected from the early picked games? My point being that ISU fans crying about LHN is misplaced here, right?
