    Below Deck

It's not even close. We went to Tropic Star Fishing Lodge in Panama last Sept and the director of fishing there is a great South African dude. He's probably in his late 30's. Once we heard he'd been a yachtie (and Captain, no less) we asked him about Below Deck. He said what we see is a complete joke. He also said yachties are even crazier than you see on the show and that if you really want a career in that world, you're not involved with that show. Earth-shattering, I know.
  2. There is NOTHING wrong with Rudy's, BTW. It's not Franklin/Snow's/Goldee's, of course, but it's the best/most consistent BBQ franchise going in Texas IMO.
  3. Hamm was absolutely involved. Left UT because of it. The Sigma Nu pledgeship stories from 1991/92 or so -- my fraternity Big Brother and another close friend in our fraternity pledged Sigma Nu that year when they got booted -- were pretty nuts. They wound up coming over to our fraternity the next year and the stories they told were pretty intense. They paddled the fuck out of those guys and since Sigma Nu had a swimming pool, there was a lot of hazing involving the pool -- extended dog paddling, etc.
  4. This is 100% what will happen.
  5. Oh, I guarantee the next guy will be worse. Cawthorn was a buffoon, though.
  6. Another shameless reminder that our charity Big Texas BBQ is this Saturday at Fair Park/Cotton Bowl. C'mon down and help us support the Ashford Rise School of Dallas. Doors open at 10 AM, live music starts at 11. Kids Zone with bounce houses and face painting starts at 12. Gary P. Nunn will play around 6:45 or 7. General admission tickets are $50 and includes open bar all day long. Under-21 does not require a ticket. Tootsie, Daniel Vaughn, Kent Rathbun, Doug Pickering, Marshall Prichard, Jeffrey Hobbs and Jack Perkins will serve as celebrity judges. Fletcher's will be selling corny dogs and Lemon Chills from 1-5. We're also selling a limited number of nice silkscreen prints of the poster for $150 -- it's a donation to the school. We are only printing 250 and each will be personally signed by Gary P. Nunn and the artist Morgan Avery. I'm the chairman for this year and we'd love all the support we can get for a successful event. Looks like we could get some glorious weather after a few really hot days in a row!
  7. Fuck Hard Eight right in the ass. The Roanoke location recently was caught having withheld nearly $900K in gratuities from employees. https://www.dallasobserver.com/restaurants/tips-gone-wild-a-recent-case-against-hard-eight-is-a-lesson-on-tipping-13887370

  9. Meanwhile, I'd let all of you know where/when it was going down and I'd want this to happen:
  10. I'd play with Trump and talk or jingle change during his backswing and walk all over his line on the green. I think I'd also pull a Connery Bond thing from GOLDFINGER and bust him for playing the wrong ball.

Have continually said the same thing but then Ace comes in and let's us have the real scoop! Sent my wife a Cameo from Colin for her birthday last week. Cost me $80 but worth every penny. Mrs. C-Man fucking loved it!
  12. Tom doesn't open his mouth and spout out political shit -- that I'm aware of anyways.
  13. I celebrate The Smiths' entire catalogue but I really dislike that song. Been to quite a few Morrissey shows. He's a lout of a human being but a hell of an entertainer.
  14. Wonder what she thinks of Madison after his "being crass" video leaked
  15. Seguin's contract has (gulp) five years remaining. He's not going anywhere at that price.
  16. For those of you who don't have access to Bally's and Razor/Josh, Razor said last night -- and reiterated it again on The Musers this AM -- was that the puck was rolling and that was the only way Gaudreau was going to get that puck through that tiny gap in the upper left corner. It created a weird launch angle and odd trajectory that eluded Jake. There's something to be said about just putting pucks on the net when a fluke shot will decide a series. That's where the Stars found themselves last night. We were so, so close on a number of occasions in overtime when Dallas seemed to have more jump than they did the rest of the game.
  17. The Flames are a better team top to bottom. The only position where we were better was in net-- and that's debatable since Markstrom is a Vezina finalist (give me Jake, though) -- and it showed in the shot disparity in most of the games. We were also pretty short-handed with Roope not being able to go at the last minute. Then take away Glendenning and Faksa and we were even more out-manned. This team is frustrating at times and if not for the silly 3-on-3 OT in the regular season, the Stars aren't even in the playoffs, much less one shot away from the second round. We need a makeover for sure but it appears we have the net figured out for the next decade. Jake is other-worldly. They were both top 10 players in the league at one point. Production from a power forward can just all of a sudden disappear, which it appears happened to Jamie. He's a glue/grit guy now. I'm happy to have him on the team but I'd prefer a much-friendlier salary. Same goes for Seguin. I've seen a few folks (probably here) wonder if he's still fighting his way back from the injury that effectively cost him all of last season. First-round pick in 2018. He seemed to have a little pep there late last night. I'm not sure what the hockey experts think he'll ultimately be but I expect him to be a top-9 forward in the very near future.
  18. Vancouver is gorgeous. Never been to Quebec/Ontario but I would like to check out Montreal and Toronto. The Maple Leafs have been my Eastern Conference team since the late 90's -- the all-blue uniforms are maybe the best in North American sports. But Edmonton is a total shit-hole and Calgary is not a whole lot better. Exactly.
  19. I'm about ready for it. I don't like what we've become.
