Murderbot, the tiny books anyway, are a fun diversion with a clever concept. The author puts Murderbot through some interesting experiences where the examination of self awareness is present and, pleasingly, light. You can consider it if you please or just enjoy the ride.
The last of the books published so far indicates the writer is sort of stuck. I wonder if she's putting out new material because of demand rather than creative desire. She'll likely have to go deeper to find character development. I love watching the creative process in just about any form.
I think I read these soon after finishing The Three Body Problem. Same person recommended the first series and I just discovered the little Murderbot novel(la) on his shelf and loved the idea. A perfect light read and the heavy but enjoyable read of the Chinese author who may just be a genius.
