  1. He’ll be nearly impossible to trade even if someone actually wanted him and that contract. Salary matching would be extraordinarily difficult on a deal that both teams would agree to.
  2. We’ve been planning to leave for a few years now. Was supposed to happen last summer and a deal on a house fell through and we just decided to stay here for a little while longer. The last few months have us in full let’s get the fuck out of here as quickly as possible mode. That may be a few months, it might take a year to get the job stuff worked out, but we’re leaving.
  3. I’ve never understood the tip for a haircut. The lady who cuts my hair used to work at a place with 10 chairs. She now has her own stall at one of those places that has something like 50 stalls that they rent out to individual hairstylists. Probably 150 sq. ft. each. So not a lot of overhead. She charges $35 and it takes her about 30 minutes to do the job. That’s $70/hr and if you text her for an appointment her first availability is always at least a week out sometime 2 or 3. So not a lot of downtime for her.. I like her and she does a good job, and I tip her because of societal norms, but at this point she’s a successful small business owner doing pretty well for herself, not somebody making minimum wage or less. also, haven’t been to a Torchy’s in a long time. A good tortilla doesn’t automatically guarantee a good taco, but a bad tortilla can certainly fuck up what otherwise might be a good taco.
  4. I think there is an exception for helping out charities.
  5. Have they finished building the reeducation camps yet?
  6. I’ve always been mildly annoyed when they list the various percentages. I can divide by 4 or 5. Or multiply by 2 and move the decimal point. It’s a little insulting that you think I am not capable of doing something I learned in 3rd grade. I could have 5 cocktails and a bottle of wine and still be capable of figuring out the tip. Not as annoying as starting at 20% and going up to 35%, but still annoying nonetheless.

  8. The DGs at Texas were fun. Like if you needed a date on short notice for some sorr of event and wanted it to end well a DG was a good choice.
  9. Her expectations havr been warped from the day she was born. This isn’t some little bungalow either, it’s a mansion with views all the way out to Catalina (wine mixer).
  10. What’s with tipping on haircuts and massages? I pay a pretty reasonable hourly rate for those services and don’t think a tip should be necessary, but society has decided that we should tip them.
  11. One of my sister’s nieces is just finished her freshman year at UGA. From the way I overheard it being talked about, it sounds like she used this lady's services. She got the one she wanted. She is currently spending the summer house sitting in Beverly Hills with a few of her sorority sisters while another spends the summer in Europe with her family. So maybe worth it?
  12. Feels like we have more winners this year. I am not one of them.
  13. Crazier secondary market than limited edition Jordans.
  14. Maybe more if they flirt a little and make me feel like less of an old man.
  15. Well, there are at least 2 of the rare species in the wild.
  16. At most of the places we get takeout from the bartender or a someone from the waitstaff puts the orders together. That’s why I tip.
  17. We had to go clean out my great aunt’s house when she died and found $15k scattered throughout the house. Got curious, so my uncle ran to the nearest place he could find a metal detector. We found another $10k buried in the yard. Woman lived through the depression and didn’t trust banks.
  18. Initials were AC. Let’s see if @Pescado_Rojo and I are Eskimo brothers.
  19. ND game ended with my soon to be fiancée taking me to the emergency room to get my eye soon back together. I’m gonna go with that as my lowest point.
  20. Should also add my willingness to tip at counter service restaurants is 100% influenced by the attractiveness of the worker.
  21. Probably the same one I went out with a few times.
  22. Counter service where everything is DIY: no tip Takeout from a full service restaurant where you pick up the order at the bar and someone bagged it up nicely:$5 Curbside: the greater of 15% or $5 Dine in at a full service restaurant: 20-25%, maybe more if the service is exceptional, which doesn’t happen very often these days. The thought of tipping at a tire repair shop made me spit out the water I was drinking.
  23. Of course he’s pro-life, he needs the pool of potential victims to be as large as possible.
