  1. No orange, but magenta is OK?
  2. ACC teams have won three of the last six national championships -- more than any other conference. Just sayin'.
  3. I guess aggy is gonna have to ask Bama to turn in their SEC card.
  4. So, will Bama be this week's meltdown thread?
  5. No. You have to be somewhere once before you can go back.
  6. Thought this was kind of funny, but it also made me cringe. The 1990 Texas/OU game was on LHN this morning. After going 11-1 in 1983 (and a near-miss national championship ending in the 10-9 Cotton Bowl loss to UGA), in the following seasons Texas was 7-4-1; 8-4; 5-6; 7-5; 4-7; and 5-6. In the three games before OU, Texas beat Penn State, lost to Colorado, and beat Rice. Texas then beat OU 14-13 on a missed OU FG try on the last play. David McWilliams was interviewed on the field after the game and was asked "Is Texas back?" Of course he said yes, Texas was back. Texas won the rest of their games that year and were ranked 3rd in both polls going into the Cotton Bowl against Miami. What followed was an alltime butt-kicking, 46-3. The next year Texas went 5-6 and McWilliams was fired. Under Mackovic, Texas lost 4 or more games in 5 of the next 6 seasons, before Mack Brown was hired and actually brought Texas back.
  7. Might be the only time for that too.
  8. Interesting note: This season Texas played and defeated three of the premier programs - USC, OU, and UGA. I doubt that has ever happened before, but I am too lazy to try and research it. Since all have always been in different conferences, it would seem very unlikely.
  9. Or maybe it means to send all eleven guys at the other team's safety.
  10. 14 should be "OK cool, Hook'em"
  11. We'll know his decision when the video announcement is released. It's in production at Texags right now.
  12. Was at the game. It was borderline erotic. Did I do that right?
  13. During the Texas Bowl ESPN ran a crawl that CB Dreande Baker would not play, and my wife asked "What does CB stand for?"
  14. "I'd like to get some sleep before I travel But if you got a warrant, I guess you're gonna come in." One of the best lyrics ever written.
  15. They're going to trademark 41st Man.
  16. Related question: What is the purpose of having a player deep to catch a punt when the game situation dictates that there is no reward and very high risk? It seems like several times this year Texas has fielded a punt - or tried to - in the last few seconds of a half, when it served no purpose. In those situations, only bad things can happen - namely a fumbled punt or a penalty. For example, in the Iowa State game, ISU had a fourth and 12 with about 3 and a half minutes left, and lined up to punt. The score was 24-3. The game was over at that point, unless we did something stupid to create quick points. Yet we had a guy at our own 10 yard line to field the punt. It turned out to be a short kick and bounced out of bounds at the 15. Why even have someone to return in that situation? Is the benefit of saving a few yards with a fair catch worth the risk of a muffed punt at the 10 yard line?
  17. Alabaggy?
  18. Dumb question, but is the loyalty rank prioritized high to low, or low to high? In other words, is 1 the best or the worst?
  19. How about this one for Kansas next year?

  21. How about this one for Kansas next year?
  22. In their ten games this season, they were outscored 566 - 75. Scores included 70-6, 64-20, 63-0, 83-17, 69-0, and 59-2 (gotta be scorigami, right?)
  23. Too bad they were never able to recapture the glory of their 2013 season.
  24. After thinking about it, by using faulty logic. If there are an odd number of possessions, then one team has one more. But that is true for both halves, so the team kicking off could get the same number the first half, and one more the second. It just happened that in the last two losses, Texas had one less possession, and that may have been the deciding factor. I still think that given the offensive firepower in the Big 12 - or the lack of defense - the better option is to take the ball first.
  25. Not necessarily true. There is not always an even number of possessions per half. If it is an odd number, the team that gets the ball first gets one extra possession for that half. If a team gets the opening kickoff, it will get at least the same number of possessions in the game, and maybe one more. The team that kicks off the first half may get the same number of possessions, or it may get one less. Of course, this does not take into account odd situations like a fumbled return, a recovered onside kick, etc.
