  1. It is a lot of things. But the head coach is the one in charge of those lots of things. So he gets the biggest percentage of the blame. IMO.
  2. So Bobby had us losing to OSU and Florida? Those I guess would be his two losses?
  3. CBS sports ran with the headline yesterday: “Arch Manning's struggles are real. Texas' failures -- whiffs at OL, a deficient supporting cast -- are worse“ and the click bate lead in to the article was basically, “is it Sark or is it Arch?” If we get clobbered like a Watermelon like Gallagher used to do with his Sledge-o-Matic this weekend and Arch isn’t the main issue (he wasn’t in the Florida game) I expect to see even more widespread public criticism of Sark. Just sayin’
  4. I mean sure I guess. I’m not in the whole “his political motivations are…” sweepstakes. The defendant is a POS. His motive was likely to impress his girlfriend. I am more interested in the evidence the State of Utah has compiled against this guy. Like a linear timeline of that 24 hours leading up to the shooting and what he did afterwards. So I expect to get more of that in court. They already provided a lot in that first court appearance but it’s still not enough for “some.” Don’t get me wrong, I care about his motive. But i also care about all the evidence. And that evidence is key for those of us who are pushing back on the Candace Owens types who are outright blaming Israel and saying the POS wasn’t the shooter and the video from the roof was faked and that the shooter was framed. It wouldn’t shock me if he was in direct opposition to his right wing parents or if his victim wasn’t right wing enough. but logic tells me that it had more to do with his relationship. Which seemed pretty much one sided. I just see it as a guy who was in love with someone who was transitioning to be a female who wasn’t all that into him and if you combine that with Kirk’s feelings on those transitioning that may have just been enough for the killer. He ended someone’s life just to impress his girlfriend who just wasn’t that into him? I think Ronald Reagan and Jodie Foster and the motivation for that attempted assassination. The shooter left breadcrumbs everywhere. It’s clear we ain’t dealing with someone who is playing with a full deck of cards, and likely never was.
  5. Maybe I’m wrong but I did see fire from arch in the Florida game. He was getting drilled every other play and at the end was still trying to win it. I saw a couple of guys leaving their hearts out there on the field as well. Leadership is from the top on down. It starts with the HC. Where is Sark’s head at? Or does he not see Arch running for his life and the OLine crumbling and the running game a hot mess when he watches tape of Florida?
  6. Add that to our offensive line woes and a WR corps that isn’t intimidating and it’s no wonder Arch is struggling. A big component of Sark’s scheme is having a stud a RB to essentially be a bell cow. We don’t have that. Despite Sark changing up the whole philosophy to practice this year (his decision) which made it even harder to assess any problems until we were actually in games you can say Arch’s play is part of the problem but blaming him for all the woes is just an easy scapegoat. It’s Sark. He is the HC and defacto OC. All this shit is under him. Pretending it’s not is just choosing to be in denial. There are essentially 20 teams worse than us in all of FBS in the running game.
  7. My understanding of Utah law (read up on it a bit) is that they will be presenting their mini-case (which both sides agreed to) in the next court hearing. So until then there won’t be any real leaks. They put out a ton of information in their first court deal. A lot more than I was expecting to get. So they are expected to put out essentially a mini case coming up at the next court hearing.
  8. Another HC who has implemented and advocated for similar prostyle type practices is Deion Sanders. So…I don’t know of any other programs doing this…and I’m sure there are a few and I get the CONCEPT of impressing recruits and retaining them by dangling the Be Pro Ready for the NFL stuff. And limiting injuries. But the problem is evaluating talent and spotting issues. None of these guys have earned it yet so to speak. Once you make it to the NfL and are a pro bowler you can say “fuck practice” even though it pisses coaches off. When you haven’t even been tested in a college game how does holding these type of practices benefit the player? Put them in the best position to succeed? Put the team in the best position to win? I don’t know. But this was Sark’s decision and his idea to do this so he needs to take ownership of it.
  9. Yes. Per his own words. In a march 11, 2025 interview. He likes to spend his springs seeing what NFL teams do. sark said it himself in that interview that he first floated this idea of abandoning the spring game, going light to almost nonexistent in the spring to light no contact practices in the summer back in December 2024. As it stands now, we have a teeny tiny chance to play in the post season if we win out. Arch and Caldwell both would have benefitted from heavy contact practices calling 140 plays. I think we can all agree there. So the main reason many of us are pissed when we heard of these Sark instituted changes back in March per his own words and his own reasonings for making this big change is because the result sucks. And logically how could it not? We had a ton of new players. A few new peeps on staff. We needed to be practicing like OU was and most all of the other teams were doing. Busting their asses to get better. We didn’t. They felt we were just going to lock and load and repeat the previous season’s success and expand on it. And we wouldn’t be as injured going into the playoffs bc we had light no contact more focused practices. We Didn’t address glaring problems before the season started. Because imo they did not have regular practices. they clearly couldn’t see any problems. OSU should have been a wake up call. It clearly wasn’t. See Florida. So instead we are 3-2 when we have the talent and allegedly the staff to be 5-0. There are other reasons I’m frustrated with Sark (inability to be flexible about his playcalling and not getting his ass in a booth which I feel is the main reason our team has been nearly dead last in red zone scoring offense for the past three years.) He and the staff seemed to put too much emphasis on Baxter being our cowbell. This is an huge component of an Sark offense. Just like TE’s were an huge component of Herman’s. So if you don’t have a stud at RB the Sark offense ain’t gonna work. in short based on our performance in the Florida game the staff appears to have no answers. Doesn’t see what the problems are? Coming off a fucking BYE week. What the fuck did we do during the BYE week? TLDR: yes it’s all true and backed up by interviews Sark gave back in March of this year.
  10. What kind of assclown alienates the fans?
  11. I just wanted to use my new favorite gif. But yeah, Sark’s presser (and we all know pressers are bullshit) was:
  12. Yeah we need this guy. Badly. And also to lead a surly boot camp. He was so angry his muscles were growing muscles. 💪🏼 dude is a star. ⭐️
  13. Maybe Sark is one of those narcissistic weirdos with a hero complex. Like he needs Make things unreasonably difficult and we start in a hole and at a disadvantage just so he can “save” the team with his brilliant play calling. And everyone will be in awe of how amazing he is and praise him for a team coming back being down in a game 20 points or some shit. Except his play calling ain’t gonna save us. And it is not about simply a RB being injured or a QB slowly developing. Huge swaths of the entire team aren’t executing. sark decided single handedly (due to his rabid success in the NFL—nope nope nope) decided to adopt a prostyle approach to the entire offseason. And he ditched all the Stuff that we’d been doing the last two offseasons that likely got us to the playoffs. And somehow he’s gonna turn it around? Like wave a magic wand? Script a masterpiece? Our confusing and frustrating struggles on offense right now are just a reflection of his entire offensive ethos on full display. And the results are 3-2. There are no more cream puffs to play. It reminds me of like those news stories of fireman setting a fire so he can save someone from the fire he started and be seen as a hero.
  14. Fuck OU. 🤘🏼 that said it’s like every 🤘🏼football thread be like:
  15. I need to invest in some blindfolds I guess. (This series of gifs with Big Bird inserted into The Birds movie is fucking righteous.)
  16. Yeah agreed. I don’t want him to be fired. I don’t like firing coaches mid season. But there is a trajectory here that can be a blue print for his demise as HC of Texas if some changes aren’t made fast. Changing the whole philosophy of practice before this season borders on malpractice to me. Is he going to double down next year with the same approach? I don’t want yet another HC but Sark may find himself out of a job in the next 2-3 years if he cannot fairly and honestly evaluate where his faults are. His whole “I gotta be better, the coaches have to be better. The team has to execute better. I thought we did better on penalties” crap feels more like an omen for the inevitable. And I don’t want to start all over again. I don’t think anyone does as pissed as we all are right now.
  17. They replayed the game the other night. The score doesn’t reflect how UCLA was pretty much in the driver’s seat the whole game. With interim everything on the coaching staff. Penn State BMDs have been like the frog in boiling water with Franklin. Sort of FOMO if they fire him bc he was doing well enough. And hey until last year Day was in the same boat as Franklin as far as a shitty record against top 10 teams. With the expectations for Penn State as high has they were before the season opener, I cannot imagine there is not serious discussion about jettisoning his ass after the season. Winning is hard. 😂 But getting embarrassed like that is hard too. I cannot imagine they keep him. It’s hard to justify unless they don’t care if they are middle tier Big 10 with a chance to spoil someone else’s hopes every year. And maybe sneak into the playoffs just to get throttled.
  18. All Gas No Brakes! The sad thing is as stunned and as pissed as I am there is like 1/3 of me still left that is fighting the other 2/3 of me that thinks we can win out. Talk about Burnt Orange Brawndo I been drinking since I was a kiddo.
  19. Yes. He is using the Lakers load management model for a college football team. JK. I know he’s doing what the NFL does which probably will never work in college…but damn. We might make a bowl game and the draft eligible players will load management themselves out of playing in that anyway. Sark’s March 2025 seismic philosophy shift to the NFL model has proven so far to be a dumpster fire. He says in his quote from the 3-11-25 interview that we have to be adaptable to change and all that. Yet he stubbornly refuses to get up in the booth. We had year of year improvement record wise for the past four years. Despite having a shitload of penalties and OL woes and being nearly dead last in RZ offense the past 3 years we were still rolling. So much so almost all of us thought we could expect to make the playoffs again and contend for a title. And Sark who is stubborn as heck as an OC flipped the entire philosophy in March. Let’s blow up what was actually working before with a couple of new people on staff and a bunch of new players and go batshit mode. unless you are Allen Iverson practice does actually matter.
  20. @someguy post in the seven win Steve thread is eye opening. Sark floated the idea of minimal spring anything and light no contact summer practices to be more like the NFL back in December. He then implemented it in March 2025. Sark dug a hole a mile wide for our team before the season even started in March 2025. He is the architect of this shit. People can bitch and quibble and complain about Arch but I think all of us would agree that both Arch and Caldwell would have benefitted greatly from heavy spring practices and a spring game and contact practices in the late summer. Damn.
  21. With the rise of the Broncos and possibly Chargers if the booger roller can fix the OLine the Chiefs might be in deep shit to make playoffs. They got the Lions up next. And in a few weeks Buffalo. 😂
  22. This.
  23. Lake scouting is exhausting. Peeps cutting me zero slack 😂
  24. Too much time left?
  25. Holy shitballs
