  1. I still kinda don't buy it (at this stage in the game - I think it's an eventual likelihood) but IF this were true, one would assume FSU is right there as well.
  2. I just assumed he stopped playing Whitehouse Road because he quit doing drugs himself and wasn't real interested in going playing a song about hammering 'shine and snorting rails.
  3. He hates the Hateful 8 more than the posters in this thread. He was absolutely dancing on our grave when you guys announced the SEC move and talked about how we would get a contract on par with the AAC. He's a big Pac 12 guy. The best part of this past summer was watching people slamming him with receipts on Twitter.
  4. That's what we get for losing to Ohio. I wonder how many times Stew came before firing that one off?
  5. If I didn’t have to work, this is how I would live every single day. Incredible
  6. It’s definitely the worst team he recruited
  7. Walk on was the guy who whiffed on that TD. He blows, but I guess he tries hard?
  8. Our defense is useless without Verdon
  9. We’ve got a walk on playing for an injured safety and OU’s going right at him. He was out last week too.
  10. Holding on OU? I’ve seen it all
  11. Whoa, buddy. This is the realignment thread. Actually being good at football is irrelevant. This is about cashing checks and bragging about the schools you play twice a decade.
  12. I really think that if you’d been able to keep the old Big 12 working together, their next contract would have been on par what the SEC, Big 10, and Pac 10 were getting. The money was better in those leagues when the 4 charters left, but if they hadn’t been so butt hurt, I think they could have gotten the league on much better financial ground.
  13. I didn’t realize that was Jackie until the very end.
  14. Oh yeah. I remember why I used to make fun of Hawkeye fans all the time.
  15. How many of those teams will they play annually? At most it will be the 2 west coast schools and probably no more than 1 of those Rust Belt schools. Rest of the schedule is a diet of Indianas, Northwesterns, and Nebraskas. And who knows how sustainable the current successes at Oregon and Washington are. Washington has proven to have as low of a floor as you can get in a bad year. We're speculating about why Riley left OU, and at the time he left he likely had no clue about what college football would look like in 2024, other than OU and UT going to the SEC.
  16. I think OU is gonna be real fucking average in the SEC regardless of who their coach is. There are plenty of reasons he'd rather be in LA, but even with the move to the Big 10, he has a much easier slate than staying in Norman would have given him.
  17. I think that was absolutely the catalyst for his move. What would be interesting is if he knew USC was going to be headed to the Big 10 when he got there, or if he was assuming a Pac 12 schedule.
  18. I'm assuming this is because they make students pay for season tickets separately from tuition?
  19. Iowa and Iowa State profit on their own. Have for years.
  20. As long as the Big 12 and ACC have guaranteed playoff access, there might not be as much push from coaches to jump into the Big 10 or SEC. Admins will always do that because they'd rather go winless and make $10M more per year than make the playoffs at $10M less, but players and coaches might be a lot more hesitant to take a job/roster spot with a Big 10 or SEC whipping boy when they're winning games and going to the playoffs in the Big 12 or ACC.
  21. Oh, I’m plenty damaged. That just has more to do with a German Catholic heritage that breeds generations of emotional repression, self deprecation, and attaching a potentially unhealthy percentage of self worth to one’s work ethic than it does cheering for shitty football teams.
