  1. That would be a really entertaining arrangement. 8 10 school pairings feeding a playoff would be amazing. Make playoffs contingent off of winning that round robin and use non-con to schedule some really great cross pairing match ups, where you’d have blue bloods playing blue bloods and bottom feeders playing bottom feeders. A 10 team pairing of ISU, KSU, KU, Mizzou, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, and Colorado State is my CFB wet dream in such an arrangement.
  2. If you’ve ever been to Moorhead or LuVerne, you wouldn’t take much umbrage at Minnesota in a “Great Plains” division. Seems like the best designation for said division all things considered.
  3. Who said I included you in that list? Outside of occasional irritability in realignment threads you’re mostly fine.
  4. There won’t be a perennial big dog in the Big 12. Teams will rise up and have a big year or two, and then come down to the mean for awhile. That’s what will make it watchable. The SEC and Big 10 make their dough on being able to have a big name matchup or two each week. The Big 12’a draw is “who is the story this year?”.
  5. Exactly. I don’t post in Texas threads. I’m not here to antagonize Texas fans, and have no issue with the fanbase at large. There are threads here about EVERYTHING with hundreds of posters that have fuck all to do with UT sports. I’ll keep posting here as long as there are topics that pertain to my interests, that increase my knowledge on certain subjects, and provide entertaining debate. There are a small handful of UT posters who are hypocritical cunts, and feel the need to act like gate keepers for the whole message board. Dealing them with them is part of the spice of this board.
  6. The good news is you’re 12 short games away from being free of the monumental injustices inflicted upon you by the cackling cabal of evil at Big 12 HQ. I know it’s tough to be a Texas fan, but salvation is nigh. Your suffering will be over soon.
  7. I think it’s all but guaranteed that the Big 12 will be able to add Pitt, Ville, and VA Tech in the future, and they’re all pretty great fits that each bring some excellent rivalries back into the league.
  8. The underlying explanation for lopsided officiating against conference defectors proffered in that opinion column is the exact same factor that leads to brands and/or star players getting calls IN their favor.
  9. I mean, we definitely have a complex with the officials, I won’t deny it. But they’ve earned it over the years. There’s a reason the Big 12 Refs Twitter account constantly jokes about screwing ISU. I’ve seen Texas get boned by the refs too - that 2015 OSU game was egregious. I doubt there’s a fanbase in sports that can’t immediately rattle off a litany of calls that hurt their team. I just think it’s hilarious how many of the same posters that criticize opposing players, fans, and coaches for complaining about officiating, and then contend that UT is the victim of a vast fixed officiating conspiracy.
  10. Remember, all other fanbases who bitch about the refs are gaping pussies, but when the Horn fans do it, they’re just telling it like it is.
  11. Seems about right. Probably drop to 4 auto bids for conference champs. Maybe one guaranteed G5.
  12. KU/KSU hasn’t been competitive in years. KSU/ISU is routinely a highly competitive, charged up situation. Plus it’s been uninterrupted since 1917.
  13. Some kind of true relegation would have that effect. UT and OU aren’t bigger draws at Jack Trice than anyone else. ISU’s attendance is more linked to weather and team performance than opponent. At this point I think it’s arguable that UT and OU did the rest of the Big 12 a favor, and even if they didn’t, they aren’t the ones driving the car here. TV execs are.
  14. This is precisely what I’m referring to when I said ESPN negged UT and OU out of the Big 12.
  15. Forgot about Cincy for sure, but I couldn’t care less because Nippert looks awesome. It’s the Wrigley of college football. Even if they could average 50K in Paul Brown, I’d rather they play sell outs there. Same with Houston, but their fanbase seems shitty
  16. All of them are between 45-65K. Bigger than most of the ACC and same as half of the Big 10. Less than the bulk of the SEC for sure.
  17. Not just history, but fit. Ames and Stillwater are remarkably similar towns, and aren’t even that far from each other. When I visited Stillwater in ‘14, we had breakfast in Des Moines and lunch at Eskimo Joe’s. Deej just doesn’t like me.
  18. Yeah, dump 2 of the 3 largest stadiums. Including one that isn’t an outlier in any sense. Bingo.
  19. Me either. Honestly looks fun as hell.
  20. College sports started dying when the original Big 12 splintered
  21. KU makes the most sense, IMO. I don’t think any Big 12 school makes any financial sense. It’s just a matter of are they fine having 2 fewer members for a few years.
