  1. No one disagrees with THAT statement. But saying that Eagles is more talented than Colin Johnson or Duvernay is just ... a bad take.
  2. Seesaw is the LMS for K-2nd grade. Easier to use for the little ones. Each class still has a Blend "class", but their work is all in Seesaw. With an 8th and 10th grader, you don't have to worry about it :). Agree on the general mindset of "just let this shit play out." By no means have things been perfect, but the teachers have been so awesome. They're always available, they're working their ASSES off to make quality content available with technology that wasn't even around nine months ago, and a teaching/delivery method that no one has been trained for. I've been very, very impressed with everyone, tbh.
  3. Kinder and 4th here. I've been REALLY impressed with the teachers - it's clear they've put in tons of hours to least have something that's engaging, makes use of Blend/Seesaw, and is age-appropriate. Zoom has worked fine, the Kinder class actually had 100% attendance this morning. We got incredibly lucky to have an au pair be able to join us for the school year. She's flat-out amazing, and is my eyes and ears in the learning room. We converted a play room, put in two desks, and hung a sound-deadening curtain between the kids. Seems to be working ok. We're on the "do your best for a few weeks, and we'll learn all the things we don't know yet" plan. Hoping for low-stress. Our kids are in a good spot - the 4th grader is TAG, so he's ahead of the "normal" curriculum; any review/backwork they have to do he should already have down. Kinder is kinder :). Sending strength and patience to all the parents, and all the kids. Just keep doing the best you can.
  4. Found the Smoke Wagon Uncut at Specs. Indiana juice, so I'm going to give it a try.
  5. That would be dickel not MGP unfortunately Shit that's what I meant ("not" MGP). Thanks for the quick response. I haven't opened it yet, will report back on taste. At 94 proof, it's probably pretty mellow regardless of lineage.
  6. I have a bottle of the Smooth Ambler SiB Select 14, says "distilled in Tennessee." Does that mean it's MGP juice? Just trying to improve my understanding of things ...
  7. Found it. Coworker had a pic of the menu - WhiskyNLadle. Now closed permanently :(. Damn covid.
  8. Looking at a map, it MAY have been Cody's... that matches the street / orientation that I remember. Honestly, the bar doesn't look quite right, but the sign outside does. I'll keep looking.
  9. Also the "I want to be a glutton, but I don't need people KNOWING I'm a glutton. I'll serve myself, thanks."
  10. We were out in La Jolla - dinner was at Herringbone (which was AMAZEBALLS), and the bar was walking distance. I can't seem to track it down on google maps but it was close to Herringbone - the place was more of a restaurant, nice outside patio space, the bar was square and a pretty good size - maybe 10-12 seats along each of the three sides.
  11. Legit licked my monitor. I might be making enchilada's this weekend ...
  12. Without question, the single best business trip I've ever been on was in 2016 to San Diego, to meet with a major tech firm there about some partnership stuff. Had my then-boss with me who was a total badass, and a co-worker that i'm still friends with. Stopped in to a local joint for lunch and a warm-up drink to find Pappy 15 for $35 a pour. Didn't partake at lunch but we dropped a pin on the map. Wrapped up the meeting (crushed it), and made plans for dinner later. Three of us, being from out of town, had no families to go check in with, so at about 4pm we went back to that place. Put three pours down before dinner, had a badass meal with the partner, and then returned to that bar and finished the bottle. Got to talking with the manager and he said that there wasn't a massive demand for bourbon in their sleepy beach suburb, but since he'd been in business for so long his distributor kept him stocked. He priced it so that people would actually drink it, and he loved that we came to his bar three times in nine hours because of it. We also got the deal done, which made the hangover the next day TOTALLY worth it.
  13. Those two things are opposites. Play something softer that doesn't cost you $60/dozen. Bridgestone e5/e6, Titleist Tour Speed (supposed to be $35/doz, we'll see), Callaway ERC Soft or Supersoft. You can sometimes find the Callaway Chromesoft Truvis balls for $35/doz.
  14. And in the process probably having a 35-yard gap between "PW" and his 56deg sand wedge. Drives me fucking insane.
  15. I mean sure, nominate an album that is widely regarded as probably one of the top-5 finest album pressings of all time :). Do you want to add Thriller or the White Album to your list as well? (I keed, I keed).
  16. Honestly, I have a similar relationship with Licensed to Ill. It's not my favorite genre, but damn if I don't just let that album play when I turn it on.
  17. 5 Man Acoustical Jam is a GREAT add.
  18. It's not like we're ever gonna get the chance to play ... unless you book that thing we were talking about.
  19. Exactly what I was going for. Your tastes trend more towards prog-rock than mine, but I can certainly see the "fun quality" in these albums. 1984 is just a rocker, front to back.
  20. This really is the bottom line. I hit probably 100 half wedges the other night; by the end of the session I felt pretty good about it. Went out to play the next day, and it was like I was holding a live snake. Made two bogies and a double on par5s, sitting 2 inside of 100 yards. Fucking hate this game some times.
