  1. These are the type of games that, when you win 70% or more of them, you're a good team. Workmanlike performances, not perfect by any means, but for the most part everyone did what they needed to do and they didn't panic when they fell behind in the 4th quarter. This is not the kind of games we were winning last season, even before Pop had to step back from coaching. I give a lot of credit not only to Mitch but also to veterans like Barnes, Kornet, and Olynyk, and guys who have paid their dues like Keldon and Sochan. I loved seeing that grit from Sochan getting into it with Edey. The young guns are clearly where most of the talent and upside are, but without the right vets and roleplayers the team lacks an identity and underperforms.
  2. sadly many local news outfits are nothing more than stenographers for cops, so if the police spokesperson used that copspeak it will be regurgitated in the news story.
  3. I'm mad for Taaffe, Burke, and the other seniors. And for Arch. Would have been incredible experience going into next season.
  4. I thought accident was most likely until I saw how hard it would be to "accidentally" fall over the railings. The only way it could be an accident is if they were doing something incredibly dumb like trying to take a selfie while dangling their centers of gravity over the edge.
  5. I'm surprised to see Indiana (+425) has better odds to win the natty than Georgia (+800). Texas meanwhile has worse odds (+60000) than UNT (+50000).
  6. I know that sort of thing happens. Sorry for your loss. Nobody in this story has resorted to child sex trafficking, cartel conspiracy theories just yet. I don't think a drunk scuffle is totally out of the question, if there was some actual beef simmering among this friend group.
  7. And we should be ahead of ND because common opponents (Arky, aggy) we have 2-0 vs their 1-1.
  8. If Bama looks like shit they should drop out. Miami would get in over us. ND could beat OU.
  9. Booger McFarland knows less about football than Seth McFarlane
  10. They had some bullshit remark about how they were "correctly" ranked 13. That's all that was said. Definitely need them to pay the toll.
  11. They already beat ND didn't they?
  12. I can't believe Booger is employed.
  13. That's because of common opponent.
  14. Either way, that's a possible motive. They need a deeper investigation
  15. talking heads have all been mostly pro-Texas, and talking heads move a lot of dumb money. The line is simply reflecting that feedback loop
  16. Not sure if this is legit but stumbled across this on Reddit. Is that really "impossible" to trip and fall over the railing? In this photo it looks to be about to their mid-rib area. The balcony here looks from the inside like what the balcony looks like from the outside based on Google Street view. The lack of UT or downtown in the background suggests the balcony is facing the west. The victim probably was not very tall, so an accident is harder to believe based on this.
  17. That would be really sad, if it happened that way. I've always hated how much people misunderstand the way suicides work. The narratives about the victim having a lot of friends or a lot to live for or immediate plans to look forward to, all of that implies that the only people who commit suicide are loners and losers. That's pretty insulting, frankly, and it doesn't help anyone. This story is blowing up everywhere, so now that APD's under the microscope I think we will see a more thorough investigation.
  18. Judge a team by its F P I not its F U P A
  19. Lots of apartments are that way, but some have balconies for the bedrooms. If we assume it's a living room setup, though, that doesn't necessarily mean people in the living room had a good vantage point from which to see what was happening out on the balcony and if there was a party happening it's less likely people were paying attention to their surroundings enough to keep tabs on the balcony even if it was visible from their vantage points.
  20. He knows that. What this tells me is that ESPN really wants the committee to know how pissed they're gonna be if Texas is left out without a very good justification. There are some scenarios where they will grudgingly accept it, but they will be apoplectic if Tulane, JMU, and ND are all in
