  2. bafyreiem2e24mg6hxyosxmxhmimahfef4gm7nqeoudqkva4pglnqrx2evm.mp4 I learned something today.
  3. The 2nd photo is the trans man who kicked the shit out of Ben Shapiro in some 2 minute debate podcast last week. I assume everyone's seen it.
  4. These videos sadly won't embed (any chance you can hook this up @immamac ???) but here's a thread with a couple short vids showing some older Mississippians going to vote. Delightful stuff. They used to have to pay a poll tax. https://bsky.app/profile/rsilvie.bsky.social/post/3l7f4ct4tt32r If you're on xitter but not bluesky, sorry for your loss but you can't watch 'em without a login.
  5. Yesterday there was a short conversation about the amount of history we don't learn in schools. These aren't the most significant historical facts I've learned this year but they are top of mind. First is that George Washington was gay. Second is that -- speaking of MSG -- when Marilyn sang happy bday to jfk, her dress purposely became see-through due to the lighting effects. Previously I'd only seen the b/w version.
  6. Just another comment about polls to emphasize your point about quality. Mailing people to get response gets the most useful, reliable results (it's what Gallup does) but you can't really do that in a campaign. (edit - I should say it's much more expensive and time consuming, so most pollsters don't do it.) Figuring out LV's is still problematic, however. Last week there was a notable mail poll released in NH. Biden won the state in 2020 by 7.5. Here's the results from the contact by mail poll. Harris is shown massively over-performing. Again, a warning about LV's though. You never know who's going to vote! Whatever way is fine with me. Main criteria is that it be an event not covered by insurance so that it costs James Dolan billions to replace or repair.
  7. dumbass zebra bailed them out
  8. How does Quinn not see the defender right in front of him? Again?
  9. Yes but it was a 3 and out filled with much enthusiasm!
  10. Someone put a dick in the sideline reporter's mouth.
  11. Reporting from NBC News - published 2 hours ago. https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/misinformation/elon-musk-x-boosts-election-conspiracy-theories-ai-trends-twitter-rcna176941 Elon Musk’s social media app X is supercharging the spread of voter-fraud conspiracy theories with the help of artificial intelligence, boosting unfounded claims including two personal smears against Vice President Kamala Harris. The dubious content is spreading in the app’s “explore” section, which says it uses Musk’s AI software, named Grok, to aggregate trending social media topics. The information does not appear to be fact-checked by humans, and in several recent examples it seemed to repeat false or unsubstantiated claims as if they were true. The feature is named “stories for you” and has a label saying it’s in a beta test, meaning it’s an experiment not available to all users. Each “story for you” consists of a feed of posts related to a trending topic. On the desktop version of X, users can also see a paragraph-long summary of the topic written by the Grok software if they look at the history of the “story for you.”
  12. Yeah I disagree with the Scheels commercial. Fuck flags.
  13. Almost time for an erection joke but then there was a penalty.
  14. That was a new type of penalty though! Points to him for being creative!!
  15. He was always pretending to be someone he isn't.
  16. Taafe with the groove.
  17. I don't know about yall but my tv just had a bunch of dudes talking about how much they love flags. I guess they're saying more holding penalties need to be called.
  18. Illegal fucking formation! Is there such a thing?
  19. It's not the same Beck.
  20. I'm now feeling very optimistic about this election. I was hopeful but deeply concerned about Hillary Clinton's election, and pessimistic with a pit in my stomach once the the October surprise went down. With Biden, I felt the same as Valmy. The MSM is what it is. But Harris has adroitly gone around the MSM to connect directly with voters with her ads plus Taylor Swift. Beyonce. The Convention. They've masterfully targeted swing voters and voters. Kamala was also in supposedly deeply red Texas yesterday, 11 days before the election, to rally voter turnout for her and for a Senate election. That provides so much information about where things stand. She's pushing the edges. Women are going to save our collective asses. I'm not spiking the football until election day but this election couldn't reasonably be going any better than it is. If I were on xitter, I would -- at least for the time being -- trim my follows to ~3 people whose reputation I considered unimpeachable, and I'd just scroll their posts instead of looking at my feed if the site was fucking with my feed. I would not, under any circumstances, subject myself to its algorithm. If you're on xitter you're -- pehaps unwittingly -- watching Russian ops happen in real time.
  21. My parents are detached from reality. Mom to a lesser extent but still she's now pretty deranged. 25 years ago I debated whether they were smart enough to recognize that the "fair and balanced" shit they were watching on Bill O'Reilly was total bullshit. I decided poorly. I thought they could recognize the obvious signs that the "no spin zone" was, in fact, all spin. In the years since they went from somewhat open minded to fully deranged. That transition coincided with Fox News's full embrace of Diaper Don during the republican primaries after Fox realized Cruz was a total loser.
