  1. We can't expect to keep winning if our bats go completely silent once we go up three runs. It's like we think the other team is going to stop trying. We've gotten away with it so far, but it's gonna come back and bite us in the ass at some point. Hope this isn't it.
  2. I wonder if the next coach's agent will use Jimbo's contract as precedent and expect similar and ridiculous long-term high-dollar guarantees. "We know what the job pays. We expect the same thing."
  3. Never forget that Rivals had Bryce Foster as the number 15 overall player in his class.
  4. Brooks is a great college running back who isn’t elite in any single category. He’s not gonna get drafted before day 3. He may decide he wants a shot at making a roster and leaves early. It I would bet he comes back next year. He didn't elaborate. But X, JW, AD (could come back), and Neyor are gone, which leaves a lot to fill. Then again, WRs are not hard to find in the portal so I'm not concerned. AD is showing up on more 1st round mock drafts than X now. Both will be drafted in the first two rounds and maybe even both in the 1st. They’re gone after this year.
  5. That's because we have elite and/or entrenched senior starters already on the roster in Worthy, Mitchell, and Whittington. He's not gonna pull targets away from any of those dudes. And they're all gone after this year. So it will be Cook and bunch of unproven but talented dudes next year. There's opportunity for a true freshman to come in and make the kind of impact Worthy did a few seasons ago. You're right that we might be fine with a portal guy. But I never like a strategy of "it's fine to lose out on this elite player this year because we'll just get two elite players next year". I'd like to add an elite WR this year but probably not gonna happen if we don't get Wingo.
  6. It’s like none of you motherfuckers watched Breaking Bad
  7. I wanted to reimburse Felix for any vet bills he incurred clearing her and he said someone else covered it. You generous liar! But seriously, Felix is a great dude with a great family. They took this sweet girl in and cared for her when she needed it most. They gave her the love that she needed, spent money on a dog they knew wouldn’t be a permanent member of their family, and we were lucky to be the first people to respond to their post. Foster families embody the kind of “community above everything” spirit that, if we were all to embrace, would make the world a much better place. Good on you man. Happy to have met you under these great circumstances. Felix’s family named her Penny and it stuck. Penny is pooped. She is snoozing in Rocco’s bed. She will be moved to the crate here in a minute when I go to bed.
  8. Now that’s my kind of fusion. Love it. I made a burger.
  9. It’s a goddamn madhouse in here! Maximum play time
  10. Looks like he got processed out of the Oregon class and ended up signing with Texas Tech. He has one tackle in two years. So yeah, he hasn't done shit.
  11. She's coming home, y'all! My family was in the market for a lab puppy already. We have a 4 year old black lab named Rocco that we got through the Heart of Texas Lab Rescue (HIGHLY recommended, btw), and had already setup an appointment for early November to meet some black or yellow lab puppies with them. I clicked on the banner ad today and saw that a fellow poster who lived 15 minutes away had a yellow lab puppy that needed a home. That felt like a sign. We're in the market for a yellow lab puppy, and there's a poster down the street who needs to find a home for one. It's all coming together. We brought the family and Rocco down to meet this sweet girl and after a few short minutes of trepidation, she happily sought out and accepted pets from each of the four humans in the family. Brought Rocco out of the car to meet his soon-to-be new sister and they got along great. Rocco is typically a VERY enthusiastic play partner, so I was a little concerned about him being too high-energy for a somewhat skittish girl. But he calibrated his energy levels so well with her that it all just felt like a great fit. Thanks so much to @Felix and his lovely wife for taking this sweet girl in, caring for her, and finding her a new home. Which will be our home. She's gonna miss the acre of land to run around on and will have to adjust to our much smaller backyard. But she will be loved. She comes home tomorrow and I will update with pictures. Unless the wimmens in Felix's family decide they can't part with her, which would be understandable.
  12. Also, is this a conversation pit for ants? Looks like a set for a Wes Anderson stop-motion film featuring anthropomorphic squirrels, mice, moles and other small rodents.
  13. This was a wedding with A LOT of service industry people and Irish Catholics.
  14. I mean, I'd love for them to invent some reason to fire him for cause. I'm sure that will comfort the next coach and give him confidence that they won't try to weasel their way out of a contract if the team underperforms.
  15. If they do buy him out, I wonder who's on their shortlist and what is realistic. I'm sure Urban Meyer is who the fans will want. Would he go there? He's a total piece of shit, so he checks that box. But just like when we were looking for a coach, there doesn't seem to be an obvious candidate outside of UM.
  16. I disagree with the notion that we were unprepared, we were the less physical team, or that we didn't have the right mindset. I just think that OU is a LOT better than we thought they were. Impressed (and fucking frustrated) with how they've turned things around in one year. We lost a close one because of turnovers and a few mistakes. But we didn't get outplayed, didn't get pushed around, didn't make too many of stupid mistakes (the running into the punter and the picks come to mind). This loss doesn't feel as bad as many of the other losses to them. But it's tough to beat a team twice in one season, and I think we'll get another crack at them in a game that will matter more. Edit: Regarding mindset, the biggest issue is that they expect to win, and we hope we will win.
  17. The Rangers outscored the Cowboys yesterday.
  18. And Rivals had Bryce Foster as the #15 overall player in the class. He's good at shot put, so he must be really good at football too. Another joke...
  19. He’s in Europe. Can’t get pussy in unstriped pants dude.
  20. Oh fuck. This guy can see the future and everyone else is idiot! Bro, you are so badass!
  21. Outside of diagnosing individual plays (1st series pick) or series (1st and goal from the 1) the reason we lost the game was because our pass rush sucked donkey dick and our LBs were terrible. Our inability to get home and get sacks on their stupid QB was maddening. It exemplifies why Colin Simmons is so essential to the 2024 class. And Jaylan Ford was fucking terrible yesterday. He’s usually amazing but he looked lost. He didn’t help the team yesterday.
