  1. A different approach: Do you believe Biden will surround himself with sycophants and ignore every bit of expertise on every relevant issue? (That's one of my main beliefs with why people were willing to vote for Trump. They don't think of him as the head of an org with 2,000,000 employees. They just think of him as the dude who gets to pop off on the issue of the day).
  2. I think 538 said estimates are 10x reported.
  3. lulz at seeing the last four years and being tempted to do it again.
  4. We're about to see some fancy ass battleships, I bet.
  5. yeah, i don't know who to trust here, the medical professionals that have expertise in the exact thing at hand or the guy that lies all the time.
  6. Yeah, he's been a dead man walking since 2016. When you win by a razor thin margin and every demographic has trended against you in the four years since, it's over. I agree with you: the only thing that can save him is a wildcard like this.
  7. I picked one stock when I started, the rest being market tracking ETFs, on 2/27 aka Apocalypse-eve: WORK. And I am in the black, brother. #stonks.
  8. 1) We need someone famous to die. I think it is becoming more and more true that we only can understand what is right in front of our face. Data from Italy doesn't do it. Data from Spain doesn't do it. Data [lulz] from China doesn't do it. We need to see it. Two ways to do that -- neighbors of everyone croaking, or a famous person croaking that everyone can feel is their neighbor. So, uh, thank you for your service, Mr. Hanks. 2) Who says prayer doesn't work? We've spent hours a day praying for stacks of dead boomer bodies come November 2020. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
  9. "Read that Again" is the best part of this, because it is a meme directed to your semi-literate demographic.
  10. rewatch. Watch again replay. Play again. recheck. Check again. rediculous. Diculous again.
  11. I don’t think you’re supposed to count by the stroke.
  12. I think the opposite. I imagine the stats aren’t there. But the racism is rampant. So many people need constant reminders that their race is the good race. Violence isn’t his it manifests itself typically, no offense to Jussie.
  13. I think you should have to pass out cards to people that says "I think Breitbart is as reliable as the NYT." I think people deserve a warning who they are dealing with.
  14. Aside: 3M is a terrific company in general. The shit they make is top notch. I always make it a point to get 3M adhesive bandages instead of shit ass Johnson and Johnson band aids.
  15. I suppose we should be glad that you've moved on from misrepresenting the first tweet, now we are on to the next one. Such is the whack a mole of discussions with Republicans these days. They don't care if they are wrong. They just want to talk. Biden never says he's not shutting down travel to diseased places. It's the bad faith of Republican discussions, and it's a waste of time to have them. But I'll give you a hint: he's trying to contrast his stances with Trump's, because he is going to run against him. He's not pointing out where they overlap, but where they differ: Stopping flights to diseased places isn't enough. We need a real plan in the US--something Trump is showing that he is incompetent at. I vacillate from thinking Trump defenders are retards and Trump defenders are just contrarians funnin' around.
  16. because it allows people (in say, November) to point back to this and say delaying elections is totally appropriate. we've been doing it all year because of this virus.
  17. i got a bad feeling about this. delaying elections . . .
  18. consistently excellent thread titles.
  19. An entire article built around a misconstrued (on accident, I'm sure) tweet. Biden is talking about the MUSLIM ban in that tweet. "I will end bans [that are just based on stoking racism]. All you have to do is show Trump is better than Biden on something. anything. And you still have to lie to do it. At some point do you not say "maybe my guy, that comes in last place in everything that i can possibly think of, shouldn't be my guy"? And: I think one answer to OP is this: people see America as too big to fail, and at the same time they haven't gotten their fair share. From that perspective, voting for Trump makes a little sense. Hey, we (as a nation) are rich, we have this magical ability to stay rich because this machine can't break. Why not roll the dice a little, maybe I'll get a little more of the pie on this reorganization? The worst that can happen is I end up where I am because a mindless drooling vegetable can do the day-to-day of this golden goose, so it's not like we are going to harm anything. I think that explains why it was Trump over the others in the primaries too. He best exemplified a roll of the dice.
  20. You guys! I don't want to brag, but you can definitely see and upward swing since this post. I really think I'm getting the hang of this!
  21. no. i've just concluded that races now are only about turnout, so i get nervous of any indicator of reduced turnout in a population that would toss trump out.
  22. sounds like you found your mom's diary.
  23. Maybe interesting, but I feel like that's just completion of the overlap of the Venn diagram of Trump and R.
  24. Another way to look at it is that the area for biggest growth from 2016 is the yoots. It worked in 2018 when they voted 2x the normal rate. I’m hoping that happens again but that chart makes it feel like they’ll be less inspired. We will see
