  1. Definitely feel like something shifted with Tapper in the last few days. Hopefully more follow suit.
  2. A full arena plus tens of thousands turned away isn't the worst visual for Houston, TX, however.
  3. It's honestly remarkable (yet not shocking) that this won't be a huge story. Even early in the Trump administration, this still would have been earth-shattering news. Trump's degradation of norms and what is viewed as "newsworthy" will be something that harms this country far beyond his lifetime.
  4. FWIW, doesn't seem like you say this kind of shit if you think you're about to win.
  5. Fair - Rome is/was the worst.
  6. The last few pages of this thread should be required reading for anyone whining about the "CR Cabal" or whatever. Multiple detailed, well thought-out posts explaining folks' problems with the current status of the Republican party. Multiple former Republicans explaining exactly why they have switched sides of the aisle. Multiple posts that are absolutely begging for a genuine, back and forth conversation. And what's the response: fuckin' nothing. I know y'all are all in here lurking - let's talk.
  7. Same exact list for me, although I'd probably add Genevieve as well.
  8. I’ve fallen into this train of thought a few times, here’s what keeps me sane. 1) With so many potential swing states, that means so many different sets containing potentially ugly data. Reminder: she doesn’t need to win even a majority of them. If she wins WI/MI/PA - the states she is consistently doing the best in - she wins, regardless of what happens with all the rest. 2) Republicans have emphasized early voting at unprecedented levels this year. Assuming there will be an Election Day gap between parties as large as in previous years, which basically every red pundit is doing, is a very dangerous assumption. 3) 2020 was a fucking weird ass year. Drawing any conclusions from comparing voting pattern data between now and then is a fool’s errand. 4) Democrats panic when they are told they have a 75% chance to win something. Republicans start bragging when they are told they have a 51% chance to win something. Never forget this.
  9. So, uh, let’s go ahead and cancel those government contracts with him. Like, yesterday.
  10. I know it’s been touched on, but someone remind me why I can ignore the alarm bells being raised by Ralston in NV.
  11. Post of the year in this forum, IMO.
  12. Can confirm.
  13. I know you aren’t used to hearing complete sentences, so I understand why this must be hard for you.
  14. When you’re definitely winning the argument.
  15. For the "concerned about political persecution" crowd:
  16. We cannot fathom the shitshow that would occur if this is the map.
  17. Hey man, I didn't say I AGREED with it, just a simple observation of what is (and isn't) being included in the national conversation.
  18. You do have to admit it’s objectively funny that a presidential candidate was shot at four months ago and you might be the only human being on planet earth who still cares about it.
  19. You might have been there at the same time as my parents. Thanks for canceling out their vote.
  20. I mean this genuinely, how do we function as a society when we have people like Vance openly stating that he wants to eliminate the WAY HIS WIFE BECAME A CITIZEN and there’s no pushback, no news stories, no controversy. Just business as usual and follow the cult leader at all costs.
  21. Not sure this is the time to be using aggy as an insult, they’d welcome you with open arms to their Politics board. But you’re probably right, I’m sure Politics is the one issue where those dorks have it all figured out.
  22. It’s obvious that jailing political opponents is a hot button issue for you, that’s fine - we all have our thing. I assume you voted for Trump in 2016, correct? Why were you not outraged at “Lock her up” being the official tagline of his campaign? At that point you had no evidence of what he would or wouldn’t do, so surely you were disgusted at that blatant threat of political imprisonment - correct?
  23. You might not want to, but you already do.
  24. Feeling incredibly pessimistic for whatever reason. Want to be wrong.
