  1. It would work in a pinch, but most chef’s knives have a pretty thin blade for true hard use outside the kitchen. A good bushcraft fixed is a much more versatile tool for that job because you are much less likely to snap the blade in half.
  2. Yeah, those are the people that are upgrading every year. I'm actually a bit surprised by disco'ing the 13. Even with the price drop of the 14, you are not at the same price point as the 13, and people seek out the TouchBar for whatever reason.
  3. Ehhh. I'm still not sure this is a no brainer M1 Pro upgrade.
  4. Colorado State just got a 15 yard penalty for fans throwing snowballs on the field.
  5. I won't call it shittastic, but ever since Apple caught up on the actual mapping several years ago, I much prefer Apple Maps to Google. The maps look better, it's more intuitive/simple to use, and the routing is much better. Google constantly tries and use a Waze like beat the traffic route, but is significantly worse than the Waze algorithm at it. As @Grimassaid above, I use Waze for road trips for police reports (I still use a V1 with it, as while Waze is fantastic for static police, it is terrible for moving, and that is where the V1 shines). I use Apple Maps in town.
  6. I'm a beta tester. The googs kept the dev team separate, and they were pushing lots of new updates till Covid hit. Since then, the team has been gutted, and not been replaced. From what I can tell on the tester forums, there is only a skeleton team left. They seem to focus more on non-US these days, as that is their largest user base.
  7. Fill a very niche space IMO. I had one for a bit, but don't consider a knife as a defensive weapon (and I'm not trained in using one for that purpose), so I sold it. They are a lot of fun to fidget with.
  8. While I guess technically a button lock, that's an Auto my dude. Classic BenchMade MILSPEC/LEO edition. Can't name the exact model right now, but I had one nearly identical about 10-15 years ago. Got rid of it because at the time autos were illegal in Texas.
  9. Pretty sure it's M3. We are seeing long lead times right now across all lines for pretty much anything custom. Which is historically typical for an impending refresh.
  10. So, I won again in Vamp. Who would you take for the rest of the season? Bijan Jacobs Addison Burrow I have Chase and CMC from previous wins.
  11. Making 2 pots for the game this afternoon. Doing some experimenting. 1 pot will be all smoked brisket, 1 pot will be my normal mix of cubes and ground ribeye. I use the @Snow Dog recipe from the old site, and just got all my dumps measured out so i can get cooking around lunch.
  12. It was in Cyrillic so I have no idea. I assume spammer.
  13. @immamac I reported the post, but looks like Guests are still able to post. See:
  14. First, I'm pretty stunned it took them so long to think of this. Second, anyone know of a cheaper knockoff that works? This is actually pretty genius addition to a camping kit. No way I'm paying $25 for it, but surely there is a much cheaper alternative.
  15. It could be worse. Guy in my league stacked Fields and Moore. 83 points on TNF.
  16. Never heard of Finch Knife Co before, but that is a beautiful knife. Be curious to see how it holds up long term.
  17. My brother who went to TXST just sent this to me. He and I are the only ones in our fam that didn't go to Tech. This has to happen for the sheer comedy it will bring me over the holidays.
