  1. Same. Maria could have easily justified taking Q because he took her last time. Saying she wanted to reward people who needed to eat was a mistake, and a bit out of character considering how well she has been playing. Charlie is clearly playing the best game. I find Kenzie and Ben both likeable, but I don't think Ben is smart enough to make any moves, and Kenzie keeps waiting for some reason. I do not think Q will be rewarded if he makes it to final tribal, but I guess that depends on who else is there. If neither Maria or Charlie make it to the end, Q probably has a better chance than I want to believe.
  2. That was awesome. More, please.
  3. I finally watched this yesterday. I didn't hate it, but I certainly did not enjoy it as much as I expected to based on this thread. I loved the original, and found the Burton/Depp remake to be mostly unappealing by comparison (primarily due to Depp's portrayal of Wonka). I suspect I might have enjoyed this one more if I had not seen the original, and if I were a kid, but I'm not sure about that. I did appreciate that they flipped the script to make the adults evil, greedy, and glutenous rather than the children, though to be fair, there was really only one child role of note. I think my main issue was that there was way too much focus on shitty people being shitty, and not enough on Wonka becoming Wonka. They missed a real opportunity to dive into how he became the best chocolatier in the world. "He got it from his mother" fell flat. It may grow on me with a rewatch or two, but don't see myself making any effort to do that.
  4. I can't decide if I'm happy or sad. I guess it depends on which THJ shows up.
  5. Ok, now that makes sense. I withdraw my question.
  6. I like your confidence, but the softball postseason hasn't even started yet. And who the fuck is Mike Smith?
  7. Just finished watching it. Nice ride by Narváez, especially when Pogačar clearly wanted it. I can't imagine he can keep it up, but at least it extends the fake suspense another day.
  8. This. And it's a bit ironic that Team Momma's Boy lost due to navigation/driving instead of sucking at a physical challenge or a medical issue. I'm surprised more of the teams did not do the seaweed task. It seemed obvious to me that it was by far the quickest, even if the pilots made it look easier than it was.
  9. Good episode in spite of the WAYYYYY over the top Applebee's promo. Kenzie likely just lost any chance she had by not having the awareness to be part of the Tiff blindside. If either of Maria or Charlie makes final tribal, they will win. I still don't see a way both make it. If neither makes it, I have a feeling Liz will win.
  10. Who the fuck is Ken? Kent, you know you're not supposed to park that on campus.
  11. I agree with most of this with a few exceptions. It is likely that only one of Maria and Charlie will be in the final, as one will have to eliminate the other to pad the résumé. Maybe they both get in if one has to make fire, but they are both too smart to let it get that far. I think Maria is more likely to blindside Charlie. In spite of her dietary issues, I think Liz makes it over Tiff. Neither is deserving, but Q or Venus is likely to be the third as a "bring them because they can't win" person. Q will probably end up finding an idol to save himself at some point. Unless something changes, Ben is not a strategic threat, but he will be eliminated because he is likeable. Kenzie could end up at final tribal, but she will need immunity to do it.
  12. I was obviously too hard on Amber, and I agree that I did not put enough blame on what impact Vinny's abuse has on her, but damn it's frustrating when people go on the race unprepared. If you can't drive a stick or navigate yourself out of a wet paper bag, then TAR probably isn't for you, even in a watered down low-travel season. I am embarrassed for them at how they are being edited, and I have to assume that reality is worse than what we are being shown. Perhaps I should have suggested that Amber kick Vinny out of the car and drive herself to Tierra del Fuego, but one, she can't drive a stick, and two, she would have ended up in Canada.
  13. So Amber can't navigate, drive a stick, or do any challenge? Vinny isn't exactly hiding his feelings about those things, but I'm sure I would have thrown her out of the car and driven to Tierra del Fuego by now. How do you decide to go on The Amazing Race without doing anything to address your deficiencies in areas that you know are going to come into play? And what possesses you to bring someone like that as your partner? The fact that they are not only still in the race, but lurking near the top emphasizes how weak this cast is. Amber is going to be completely dependent on you forever in every facet of life. Run, Vinny. Run! This was a dream leg for Team Momma's Boy. It was like Cliff Clavin playing Jeopardy.
  14. There's no time for that shit. We need focusness.
  15. I can't say that I wasn't feeling the same way, but it's hilarious to read this thread after the fact.
  16. One is one too many.
  17. Hmmmm. I'm starting to think you aren't really my mom. She would know these.
  18. They are the South Austin's mom of HOFs.
  19. This is a big issue for me as well. Several of the teams speak Spanish, but for those who don't, it sucks.
  20. It's obvious that we are supposed to be pulling for Team Momma's Boy, but I just can't do it. I'm hoping that they go soon. I'm glad that the pilots have upped their game. Maybe a couple of other teams will do the same and make a race out of it. Navigation seems to the biggest weakness for most of the teams.
  21. Liz believed that the Soda blindside was her idea, and was sick of Tevin patting himself on the back for it. She could have targeted Venus for the same reason, but likely thought that Tevin was the bigger threat, or was more annoying. I was hoping that someone would turn on Q before the tribal bullshit. I don't know what to make of things now. I think Maria and Charlie have the game to drive things. Liz has the desire to play, but she needs to be smarter about her targets. Playing on emotion usually doesn't end well. I love Hunter, but unless he suddenly decides to participate in the "outwit" part of the game, he has no chance to win. I still feel like Kenzie is biding her time, but she needs to start having an impact soon. Tiff missed a real opportunity to do something when she found out Q was targeting her. Q is a total wild card right now.
  22. The pirate hat wasn't doing you any favors.
  23. Was it the top priority of the summer? You need to get your priorities straight.
  24. Funny you mention that. I just started rewatching Season 2. I still have no idea how Tina won. That was probably the most disappointing final tribal for me of all time.
